But I love the way that my moissanite shows color! 😀
On all these threads there is a lot of talk of how close a moissy looks to a diamond, and a lot of people worried about the “disco ball effect” and it being too warm/green to be a convincing stand in for a diamond. Honestly…thats my favorite part about it! Its not a diamond and I don’t want to look exactly like one.
My favorite thing about it is when it picks up the colors of whatever is around it! A lot of bee’s post pictures on here showing how white their moissy is and how comparable the stone is to a diamond (which is lovely and great!) but I look for opportuities to take pictures of my moissy when its sparkling in a million shades of colors!
Heres my moissy reflecting the green of the trees (:
I hope this post hasn’t discouraged any contemplative bee’s from buying a moissanite! Mine is almost always blaringly white, honestly(Its an amora) I just think if I could go back and get it unenhanced, I probably would!
Any other bee’s love the crazy colors their moissanite throws like I do?? (:

I’ve taken photos of my moissy when I’ve had a purple shirt on and it’s looked blue or purple. It’s kind of cool.

I love love love my unenhanced moissy! Glad you posted this and no you aren’t the only one 🙂

Wow that really dose pick up color! So many bees will only show the brightest white pics they have so its nice seeing real pics of it picking up color. I think thats a great example of why it is so important to buy a moissy because your excited its a moissy and want to tell people what it is and show off what it does and not because you want to pass it off as a bright white diamond. I love my diamond but would love to see bees post more pics like this of their moissys. It’s cool to see and appreciate what makes it different than a diamond, not trying to show how similar it looks to a diamond:)

Wow. I’ve never seen my moissy reflect that much color before (and mine’s unenhanced)! It’s really pretty. How many carats is your ring, OP?
My DH’s grandmother looked at my ring and wondered how my Darling Husband could afford a diamond so nice. She eventually found out it’s better than a diamond. 🙂

Wow, I went with unenhanced too but mine NEVER shows color like that! It turns a light lemon color when it’s cloudy out, but that’s about it. That is so COOL!!!

Thanks everyone! 😀
I really hope this thread doesn’t keep bee’s from wanting a moissy, but I do think its important to show how the stone really “acts” if that makes sense. It usually looks white as all get out indoors, but outside it can reflect all kinds of colors, namely green from the trees on bright, clear days! I just love it for what it is.
@pfinarffle: Thank you! Its a 7mm/1.25 carat. And yes, I would say that for me, its defiitely better than a diamond!

Omg that is so cool. I love moissanite.

that’s really cool. not too familiar with these stones but i’m glad you’re happy.

Moissy can certainly perform like that, but doesn’t always. It is really the luck of the draw with the stone. So if you get one like that and don’t like it, try another stone. 🙂 Or vice versa.

I live in Reno and my moissy sparkles like a beast when I’m in a casino. The lights and colors in there are crazy! It just absorbs everything and lights up. I’ll try to get a picture the next time I go. o.o

I have to say, my unenhanced Moissy has never looked that green! Maybe it’s because I wear a lot of blue, and when I’m outside surrounded my greenery it’s usually flashing so much sparkle I woulnd’t notice the green anyway! I love the fire and fact that it never looks quite the same depending on lightining/surrounding colours.

That is gorgeous! Looking at those pics makes me think I might like to get a moissy for a RHR someday. Pretty!
