This is my first post on here so I thought I’d start with a quick backround story! 🙂
My SO and I were childhood sweethearts and each others first (and only real) loves. Back then he was the sweetest person imaginable and I was a bit of a bi**h 🙁 I dumped him but I was so young and felt like it was all too much too soon. Anyway I went onto meet another guy and we had two children together but it didnt work out so we split when my second child was just a little baby. All them years I missed my now SO sooooo much and often thought about him.
When my youngest was around 6months I decided to go for a job interview and got it. I started work the following week and to my surprise/shock/horror My SO was my boss!! Straight away the chemistry was incredable but he had a gf! Within weeks he broke it off with his gf and we fell madly back into love!! 3 years later I gave birth to our son. We were and still are blissfully happy!!
So here’s where we are now…… He is in the process of buying a ridiculously priced ER so I know a proposal is coming although God knows when :-p I think I may be going a bit overboard, I have decided on a date- Mar-21-2015 because it is a saturday and it is also the date we fell in love again 🙂 I have been on google every spare minute of the day looking at reception venues and I think I have even decided on a dress. This is only the tip of the iceberg- I have picked out flower girl dresses, invitations, wedding bands…. the list is endless!!
Please tell me I am only as nuts as other waiting bee’s and I am not completely loosing the plot 🙂 I feel like I am bordering on obsessive but I just cant wait to marry him. He truly is my soul mate and I know he loves me as much as I do him.
End of rant!!!!! 🙂

you’re not nuts at all! and it means you will have a lot less to stress about when you do get engaged 🙂
just be aware that dresses, etc may be discontinued by the time you are ready to purchase, but there are always other options out there 🙂

and as long as your SO doesn’t mind all the planning, he may want to help in decision making 🙂

@IreGal: I don’t think you’re nuts at all – you know for a fact that he is going to propose soon so why not start thinking and searching for things now? We’re girls – we naturally love weddings cos they involve all of our fav things – shoes, dresses, pampering, gifts, flowers, jewellery, etc etc

@IreGal: That’s really cute that you guys got back together after so many years apart, truly amazing. And If I knew my SO was buying the ring I’d be planning already also haha, wait I already am and I don’t even know LOL best of luck!

OK I’m totally in the advanced planning boat… but 2015 is WAYYYYY to far to be doing this. Soooo many things are going to change, dresses, styles, decor, even venues! I say knock yourself out looking but keep a very open mind.

@IreGal: I’m not a patient person myself so I totally understand where you’re coming from! We have a ring and I am a planning fiend. It also doesn’t help that a good girlfriend of mine just got engaged so talking with her about planning makes me nuts too. 😉 Welcome to the hive btw!

I don’t think you’re nuts. I’ve pretty much decided on what I want my custom made dress to look like and a few weeks back I did price out a venue or two… no deposits till the ring is on my finger though. That is my line, but I figure I can daydream as much as I want in the meantime.

pre-planning doesn’t hurt as long as you don’t book/buy anything that might have to change if your date needs to change/your SO has a different opinion on it
