yesterday we went and booked out venue, and while we were looking at the tables etc, the manager told us that we didnt NEED table cloths because the tables were new and in great condition……
Errrrrrr! i turned around to him and said that although the tables didnt NEED cloths to cover scratches or anything, i actually WANTED tablecloths……
he looked at me and then slooooooowly said, okaaaaaay.
He looked at me as if he was thinking ‘here we go, bridezilla’, the tables are in great condition, they are just dark oak and i want a pretty table , thats bright and cheerful. is that too much to expect?
I needed to phone him today after booking the registrar, to tell him its all booked etc, and again i mentioned i wanted table cloths, and i know he was mad because i could hear the phone cracking as he was squeezing it in his hand, probably wishing it was my neck! LOL
Please be honest……..am i a bridezilla in the making?
i do hope not because i am most UN-bridezilla-ish person in the world, I am so laid back i am almost horizontal, but i think it was his attitude…..like HE had made the decision on what my wedding tables would look like……and basically was telling me we didnt need them. Nobody needs them, but i want them , because the vision i have for my wedding tables INCLUDES tablecloths! Grrrrrrrr!

Geez! You think they would want to protect their tables from scratches and the only way to do that is with tablecloths! Wanting tablecloths doesn’t make you a ‘zilla, that guy sounds a little rude.

I dont think you were being a bridezilla. You’re allowed to have ideas and an opinion without that making you a crazy bride. People almost like, expect the brides to be flipping out all the time..so the second you voice your opinion it’s like “ohhhh lets not upset the bride!” and you’re just like, huh? I dont know, that guy seemed a bit rude, i wouldn’t worry about it.

Phew thank goodness for that, i thought i had a little bit of zilla-itis coming out in me!
i dont think i have ever been to a wedding and there not be tablecloths.

Well at least your guy isn’t telling telling you you can have anything you want for no additional charge but charging you up the wazoo behind your back (yeah… he got fired…) But seriously, everyone has bad days, I’m sure he’s seen worse than tablecloths. Perhaps next time you could make a comment about how beautiful the tables are… ? Sounds like he just wants someone to notice them lol

No & i think the worst zillas don’t think they are EVER wrong and you seem very aware. Happy planning 🙂

As i am having a vintage themed wedding, I thought that IF i was going to be charged for hiring the tablecloths, then i would buy lace tablecloths to fit in with my theme. if its gonna cost, then i will buy my own. Ebay had just the thing for a realy good price and i would have bought them, but he told me there wont be a charge, as i only have 6 tables, and we have already made the booking and paid the deposits.

@anne B: Lol. I like this statement “Nobody needs them, but i want them , because the vision i have for my wedding tables INCLUDES tablecloths! Grrrrrrrr!”
I don’t think you were being a bridezilla but I giggled when I read that last line–I imagined a small child in a white dress stamping her foot. Too funny.

This isn’t bridezilla. I think that anytime we have envisioned something for our weddings and then someone questions it or tries to change it, you immediatley have the thought, “this is my wedding pal, back off”. This is no different than a hairdresser saying “Oh you want to darken your hair, no you should lighten it, we’re going to do that instead”. It’s yours and if you want it a certain way, then that’s how it should be. I hate the bridezilla stigma. Anywhere else in life (besides weddings) you wanting it a particular way wouldn’t be questioned.

Thats odd that he doesnt want to protect the tables with a table cloth…

EXACTLY……in fact on the way home i said to my Fiance, ”its like going to a car showroom to buy a Rolls Royce and being told you only need a Mini, so thats all you should have’

You aren’t a bridezilla. I thought all venues give you an option to have tableclothes. Does this venue not allow tableclothes? or do you have to provide them?
Also, you would think they would want to protect the tables with tableclothes to keep them in great condition.
You are entitled to have your reception area the way YOU want without getting an attitude. That would stress anyone out.

yes they do use table cloths as standard in the bigger room, because their tables are not so nice, but mine is in a smaller restaurant part of the hotel, with the new table and chairs and he just thought that they were not needed. if i had to pay i would have done, thats how much i want them, but i was told earlier today that there wont be a charge. YAY!

I dont think thats Bridezilla! Your just making your wants/needs known and ahead of time!
