Maybe you guys can compromise and you pick the ceremony music (make sure he listens to it before judging it) and let him pick the father/daughter dance song.

I agree with Caszos. Since you are the only child and you’re his little girl, it’s going to be a big day for him too. I wanted to walk down the aisle to something different, but in the end I caved and walked down with the traditional march. I was actually happy I did that in the end because when else will you walk to it? And everyone knows to stand when that song comes on, etc etc. Maybe have your bridal party walk down to the other music, then you walk down to the traditional march? And you can make your recessional song really fun.

I think maybe your dad is just a little sad that he is “loosing” his only little girl and talking about wedding stuff brings that to mind making him more difficult than he is normally. My dad and I are really close, and we can talk for hours, but as soon as I start bring up wedding stuff he sorta shuts down and only gives the skimpiest of answers. I am the oldest of two and the only girl, So I know this is hard for him. He actually turned out way more traditional in his ideas that I thought he would be, too. when I suggested doing different flavored pies with whip cream and icecream instead of the Traditional cake. he shrugged his shoulders, and said “That’s not very traditional” all I could think was “ya dad thats the point”

Go easy on the dads 🙂 they the biggest softies out of everyone
