Hi! My fiance (from mexico) and I have been together for 5 1/2 years, and we are currently expecting our first child together. It breaks my heart that he has not been able to be here and cannot be here when she is born. I filed the petition for the I-129F at the end of last month, and received confirmation today that they had received it. It is defintely a long process and a lot of work, but I want out family to be together

I feel for you. My husband and I went through this over the course of the last year +. We filed the I-129F back in October and got confirmation within a week that they had received it, but then it took until January for us to get the word that it was moving on to the next step! However once that happened things started moving faster. By the end of January the paperwork was in the US Consulate in my husband’s country and my hubby had received the packet of forms he needed to fill out and send back before the interview would be scheduled. By mid February we had an appointment date for the interview and for the medical exam. In March we had the interview and were given the visa approval, we had the visa in the passport and in hand by the end of March!
I hated the fact that we had to be apart through so much of this! My husband is from Europe so I was restricted to being able to see him only a max of 3 months out of each 6 month period. I can only imagine how much tougher it would be if I’d been expecting a child! I was lucky and thanks to wonderful parents, I was able to cut short our time apart by spending mid-Jan through mid-April with him in the Netherlands. Even luckier that things worked out so that with the visa approval, I could bring him home with me and get married! 🙂
I wish you all the best and if you need ANY advice from someone who’s been in the same situation, please feel free to pm me!
