@slydon:  There’s a ton of brides that you can help on here.  (j/k)  I’m first in line though.  lol.

@Captain013: I’m so with you!

I miss it too! There’s like this big hole where wedding planning used to be. Sigh.

I wrote about how I missed wedding planning on my blog the other day, and one of my readers who is engaged emailed me… and now I’m helping her plan hers! PERFECT. All of the DIY and decor fun and none of the stress and family drama!

I am definitely enjoying my newfound free time and have lots of other projects planned!

And, my cousin got engaged 3 days before our wedding, so I have refocused my planing energy to her wedding.  She was a great help to me, so it will be fun to return the favour.

Get psyched to plan something else.  Maybe a special birthday party? Or a baby shower for a friend? After planning a wedding, planning anything else is easy!  🙂

I have to admit that I miss planning too. I’ve found other ways to pass time (hosting events at my house, planning vacations, reinvigorating friendships, working out, doing post-wedding tasks like framing photos and reorganizing the apartment to hold the myriad of gifts we don’t have space to put anywhere), but I still miss it. I think I miss having go-to websites to visit when I’m bored or trapped inside due to the bad weather the most! I also know that while there are a ton of things I could be doing, I find I feel pretty lazy.

We’re not ready to buy a house or to have kids yet–I think these other big life-changers often fill the void for some newlyweds. I think it’s just weird to shift from having something you should be doing every waking moment to having a ton of free time. We’ll get used to it!

Am I crazy??  I was (and still am) so glad the planning was over!  However, my current obsession is looking at houses vs. looking at wedding crap all day, lol.

do you like planning other parties or just weddings only?   I ask because maybe you can help out a friend with some planning.

I admire people who love to plan events. I don’t like to personally, and I end up not hosting very often because of it. I envision myself all martha stewart like with fabulous entertaining, but alas, I don’t think I can ever get into it!  plus, I had to fork over $5,000 for a planner because there was no way I was going to be motivated to plan my own wedding. totally worth every penny, but ouch, so expensive!
