I am ALWAYS second guessing myself when it comes to my rings! Ugh!
I seriously love my princess but I often wonder if I would have liked a radiant better. Or I look at rounds and admire how much bigger they look than my princess. But my Darling Husband picked out my princess because he liked the shape the best.
Do you ladies ever get tired of looking at your center stone? If you had to pick again, would you choose a different cut?
If you have a princess, would you please state why you love it?? Thanks!

@JessMorgan777: When the Fiance and I first began looking at rings, neither of us knew a thing about diamonds or our preferences regarding them. The first thing that became obvious was that we both liked solitaires and so that was that. He’s a simple guy so he would have stuck to a plain band but he wanted something more novel in order to incorporate my personality which lead him to choose a pave band. Now for the shape! Fiance picked the princess because that’s the shape that he liked best. I knew I didn’t want too fancy a shape so it was always between either round of princess and then it was definitely princess because I like geometric shapes with clean lines and the RB was just too soft (for lack of a better word) for me. I also did not like the way the Ring Bearer looked on my finger.
I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks so can’t say that I’ve gotten sick of looking at it yet.
Why I love it? A) Fiance had it custom made and chose the diamond all on his own B) If I had picked a ring on my own it would’ve been very dang close to this one C) I love that it has hints of both of our personailities in it so both of us like and can be proud of it 🙂

I have a princess and I love it because everyone around me has rounds. It is different and I like the sparkle better than rounds. Yeah it is smaller but it is different in my circle.
I love your ring girl it looks huge and I love that new band you got…I think we all second guess our rings one time or another but it will be ok.

@JessMorgan777: I thought I wanted princess until I found my radiant!

I’m the same way! I originally had a solitaire, which is what I always wanted. But I changed it to a 3 stone, which I LOVE!!! But sometimes I still drool over other people’s solitaires, lol! And lately I have been obsessed with OEC and AVR cuts, they are stunning. I’m also waiting on a 7 stone band to be made (coming this week!) because I wanted more bling, ha! I have a very understanding husband and a great jeweler 🙂 I really do love my rings though, and probably won’t upgrade or change until my 10 year anniversary which is in 5 years. Maybe then I’ll get a drool worthy OEC right hand ring! Nothing wrong with loving sparkles

I thought I wanted an emerald or asscher until I tried them on. I ended up LOVING the hearts and arrows cut… and I’m pretty darn sure I’ll never get tired of looking at it!

Oh yeah, I’ve done this… several times. If you’re crazy, then I should probably be committed!

@GelaMac: Awe! Thank you! Princess cuts are quite common in my area…but I do have 2 friends who recently got engaged and both got radiants, my mother and sister have marquise and best friend has an emerald cut…so really… rounds…*shock* are less common in my circle. Wierd how your circle can influence things!?! I knew you loved your princess from the start because you could have changed it when you upgraded. Love your set btw!
@Artificial-Sweetener: *grabs heart* Do you have a pic??
@AP1976: I hope I can wait 10 years! lol it’s hard to do. I glad your SO was okay with you changing it!
@bridezilla421: That is really sweet! I hope you continue to love it!

@JessMorgan777: I love my round, but I fully admit that I wish I had considered an oval more. Especially when I look at this picture, I can’t help but think “an oval would look great.

@MrsFuzzyFace: Your round is beautiful too though!!
Ugh…maybe this is where ring envy stems from..ha!

I have a princess and I love it because I don’t know anyone else who has one. All my friends and co-workers have round (well, there is one person with an emerald). It sparkles like crazy! It sparkles as much as my previous round e-ring did.
And when my Fiance gave it to me he said, “A princess for my princess.” 🙂
I know, I know!!!
But, still, I thought it was cute, lol.

I seriously considered getting a blingy band as an ering, but ended up going with a sapphire halo, which i LOVE. However, it’s very tall, delicate, and I can’t wear it all the time because of that. It makes me sort of wish I’d gone for a lower-set band. Every time I start to feel that way, I think of how proud Fiance is that he got me what he feels is the most beautiful ring he’s ever seen. Then I feel better about my choice.

I didn’t get a chance to pick out my ring. I got a family diamond and it happened to be round. While I loved the sparkle of it, I find that there are other cuts that are more flattering on my finger and I so wished I would have been able to pick out my ring.
At one point I really wanted a princess cut, so I bought a princess Asha solitaire. No offense to anyone that has a princess, but I really don’t like it…at least the way it looks on me. I see pictures on this site and it just looks better on everyone else. So I have this ring that I never wear. At least I didn’t spend the money on an actual diamond 🙂
The cut I am really loving right now is the oval. It elongates the fingers and I think it just looks so elegant. Cushions would be a very close second.
