@JessMorgan777:  When the Fiance and I first began looking at rings, neither of us knew a thing about diamonds or our preferences regarding them. The first thing that became obvious was that we both liked solitaires and so that was that. He’s a simple guy so he would have stuck to a plain band but he wanted something more novel in order to incorporate my personality which lead him to choose a pave band. Now for the shape! Fiance picked the princess because that’s the shape that he liked best. I knew I didn’t want too fancy a shape so it was always between either round of princess and then it was definitely princess because I like geometric shapes with clean lines and the RB was just too soft (for lack of a better word) for me. I also did not like the way the RB looked on my finger.

I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks so can’t say that I’ve gotten sick of looking at it yet.

Why I love it? A) Fiance had it custom made and chose the diamond all on his own B) If I had picked a ring on my own it would’ve been very dang close to this one C) I love that it has hints of both of our personailities in it so both of us like and can be proud of it 🙂

I have a princess and I love it because everyone around me has rounds. It is different and I  like the sparkle better than rounds. Yeah it is smaller but it is different in my circle.

I love your ring girl it looks huge and I love that new band you got…I think we all second guess our rings one time or another but it will be ok.

I’m the same way!  I originally had a solitaire, which is what I always wanted.  But I changed it to a 3 stone, which I LOVE!!!  But sometimes I still drool over other people’s solitaires, lol!  And lately I have been obsessed with OEC and AVR cuts, they are stunning.  I’m also waiting on a 7 stone band to be made (coming this week!) because I wanted more bling, ha!  I have a very understanding husband and a great jeweler 🙂  I really do love my rings though, and probably won’t upgrade or change until my 10 year anniversary which is in 5 years.  Maybe then I’ll get a drool worthy OEC right hand ring!  Nothing wrong with loving sparkles Laughing

I thought I wanted an emerald or asscher until I tried them on. I ended up LOVING the hearts and arrows cut… and I’m pretty darn sure I’ll never get tired of looking at it!

@JessMorgan777:    I love my round, but I fully admit that I wish I had considered an oval more.  Especially when I look at this picture, I can’t help but think “an oval would look great.

I have a princess and I love it because I don’t know anyone else who has one.  All my friends and co-workers have round (well, there is one person with an emerald).  It sparkles like crazy!  It sparkles as much as my previous round e-ring did.

And when my Fiance gave it to me he said, “A princess for my princess.”  🙂

I know, I know!!!

But, still, I thought it was cute, lol.

I seriously considered getting a blingy band as an ering, but ended up going with a sapphire halo, which i LOVE.  However, it’s very tall, delicate, and I can’t wear it all the time because of that.  It makes me sort of wish I’d gone for a lower-set band.  Every time I start to feel that way, I think of how proud Fiance is that he got me what he feels is the most beautiful ring he’s ever seen.  Then I feel better about my choice.

I didn’t get a chance to pick out my ring.  I got a family diamond and it happened to be round.  While I loved the sparkle of it, I find that there are other cuts that are more flattering on my finger and I so wished I would have been able to pick out my ring.

At one point I really wanted a princess cut, so I bought a princess Asha solitaire.  No offense to anyone that has a princess, but I really don’t like it…at least the way it looks on me.  I see pictures on this site and it just looks better on everyone else.  So I have this ring that I never wear.  At least I didn’t spend the money on an actual diamond 🙂

The cut I am really loving right now is the oval.  It elongates the fingers and I think it just looks so elegant.  Cushions would be a very close second.
