I suggest just putting a thin hoop skirt under it so that it holds it away from your legs without it changing the shape (unless you want a fuller shape). The dress is perfect.

I think you aren’t going to have much luck without a significant (like, a lot) increase in price. FWIW, that dress looks awesome on you!

@NDfan2009:  K, that dress looks awesome on you.

Have you thought about having a copy made by a dressmaker?  More work, but you could pick your fabric.  Silk would be awesome!

@chasesgirl:  Thats just not true, my dress was $850, and was not taffeta its organza and heavily beaded, so its possible to find a dress that isnt taffeta for that price.

@ OP: That is going to be very difficult to find a similar dress in a different material, changing the material will typically change the entire look of the dress. I would try a hoop skirt, they help keep your skirt from your legs which keeps you cooler.

Even if your dress isn’t polyester, it won’t matter if the lining is.

The dress does look great on you!

I’m not sure if it’s polyester, but Mori Lee Blu 4524 has a similar feel, and there are lots of threads about how light and airy it is. If you do a quick search I’m sure you’ll find them — and it’s really a beautiful dress!

Seems like Justin Alexander had something similar, and a lot of their dresses are silk.

Watters makes this exact dress in real silk taffeta (Watters Gobi, around $2k).  (Wtoo is the lower-priced line by Watters.)

It’s also available in a floral burnout fabric that would be beautiful for an outdoor wedding (Watters Mojave, around $1200), but I’m not sure if it’s polyester or not.

Theia’s dresses are reasonably priced and are silk organza. Their price range can be anywhere from $800 to $2800, but for reference, this first one sells at Nordstrom for $995.
