I watched ‘Seeking a Friend for the End of the World’ last night.
And it was lovely and beautiful and great, but I can’t stop thinking about it and it makes me sad.

Has anyone else seen it? How did you recover? Or was there another film that traumatised you?

I wish I could offer support, but I can’t allow myself to watch a film with Kiera Knightly in it… her face makes me angry!
But it does sound like a sad film 🙁
Eat Pray Love did a similar thing to me… it made me really depressed about my life. I want to go and travel for a year!

@Miss Jackrabbit: I couldn’t agree more, I always end up shouting at the TV “get your f*cking pouty face off my TV screen you stupid b*tch!!” (My SO finds it funny how much I hate her stupid pout) ….. BUT…. OP I have indeed seen this film. I love Steve Carrell so had to give it a watch. I made me feel sad, and all jumbled up inside and put me in a bad mood. lol. I can’t think of any examples but I hate it when a film does that to you and at the end you are like so sad and depressed. lol

@Miss Jackrabbit: I honestly don’t mind her. I won’t go out of my way to watch a film with her in, but I don’t find her offensive when she is there. She just doesn’t usually make films I’m super interested in seeing. (We’re not going to mention the Rage-fest that is Pride and Prejudice)
But Steve Carell is rapidly becoming by Weird Celebrity Crush, so it balanced out.
I’ve heard such mixed things about Eat, Pray, Love, I can’t make up my mind if I want to see it or not.

@MsBeer: She really is a marmite actress. I’ve never found her to make enough impact on a film for her to bother me – she’s just sort of… ‘there’. I mean, her character in Pirates of the Caribbean got stupid, but that whole franchise got stupid. And Pride and Prejudice was a crime against literature, but that wasn’t really her fault. She never makes much of an impression really – which means she’s not bad, I guess, but also means she’s not amazing.
I made me feel sad, and all jumbled up inside
THAT’S EXACTLY HOW IT MADE ME FEEL.

I haven’t seen it, but I saw “Disconnect” earlier this week and I can’t stop dwelling on 1) how insanely awful it was, and 2) how so many critics liked it. It also makes me wish Roger Ebert was still alive to rip this movie apart, so I could have read his review and wouldn’t have had to waste 21 dollars.

@Pomapoo: I’ve not heard of ‘Disconnect’, but looking at the Wikipedia page, I can see how it’s a concept that might be a bit… up itself.

@rcac1208: He looked to me a bit like a Border Terrier, although he wasn’t so dark around the muzzle as they can be.
