Black and white is a classic wedding color combo and your girls would love you if they got to buy a black cocktail dress they could actually wear again! Then if you did all white flowers with pops of green from the leaves/greenery – gorgeous and so classy I can just picture it now 🙂 Why not do what you like? If Fiance is really that against black, wine would look beautiful with ivory too. Or you could do super colorful flowers to appease him and stick with the neutral black and white for the dresses.

Go to http://www.theperfectpalette.com

Scroll down on the right. Click on the color closest to wine.

You will see all the palettes they have developed featuring that color.

How about this — since your Fiance is the one who loves colors, why not ask him what HE would like to wear for his wedding day? Perhaps you could build outwards from there. I can’t imagine that he’ll be wearing a suit that is colored differently from the standard black/gray/navy neutrals, so maybe in talking through his own vision for himself (shirt, vest, tie, boutonniere), you guys can come up with a palette that works for you.

As others have said, though, you could totally do a black, ivory and wine palette, maybe with a gold metallic in there. Wine will give you access to lots of different pretty flowers, and of course there are soooo many lovely white flowers. If your husband chose a black suit, he could work wine details in with his shirt, vest, tie and/or boutonniere, and ivory is a sensible other color that pairs well. If he wanted to lighten it up a little, you could even do black, ivory, wine, and a silver grey in there to add a little more dimension.

You’ve got tons of options which will look great! But definitely talk to him about his vision.
