@paulajmc4:

Hey you’ll be fine and enjoy it as iit’s such a great experience. If you look at my post – ‘I found my dream dress’ you’ll see the dress I got on Saturday. I thought i’d found my dress a few weeks ago but I started having doubts and i’m glad I listened to them now. The dress i’ve got (well my mum’s bought, bless her) is the first dress I fell in love with on the internet. You’ll just be creating your own little story. But the fact that you don’t know what you like could be easier as you’ll be open to trying on loads of different styles and lovely dresses. Just enjoy it.

@PitBulLover:

You look like a model and you’re modelling the dress.

Click around on the boards.  There are SOOO Many dress posts.  Also check out the dress section in the “Bio’s” and “Gallery”  A lot of brides post their dresses up there.

Do you have any idea what kind of style you are looking for? I would start with David’s Bridal website and Maggie Sottero’s website.  Both have a TON of dresses that if your browse through them you should get a feel for what you like.

Here is my dress on the model:

The Dress on Me:

The dress is Monique Luo Style CH515 from David’s Bridal

Here’s my dress when I tried it on in the store:

Here’s it in action on the wedding day (so you can see it looks even better when everything comes together).

You could also try googling different styles in the google image search ‘sweetheart neckline, mermaid style, etc.’. Or pick a designer that you like and browse their collection online. Good luck!

Oh, don’t be scared! The fact that you don’t know what you want will only make it more fun – you can try on all kinds of styles to see what you like.

My best advice is to NOT buy the first dress you think MIGHT be the one. There are many “dress regret” posts on here, and lots of brides end up trying to sell their first dress to buy another. If you like one, keep trying on a few more, then sleep on it. If your thoughts keep going back to the one dress, THEN go back, try it on again, and if it still feels right, buy it. 🙂

And here is my dress (on the model, not me! LOL). I will tell you that I THOUGHT I knew what I wanted – a flowy chiffon, v-neck “destination dress” for my beach wedding – and you’ll see that I ended up with something completely different! This is a Maggie Sottero (highly recommend you try one on – she’s known for her corsets & flattering cuts) – Vernice model:

And this is the one I thought I wanted:

Good luck and HAVE FUN!
