My Fiance and I are getting married at a local country club. In order to get married there we have to have a club member sponsor us. However we didn’t know any of the club members so the club manager found a couple who were willing to be our sponsors.
This is extremely important because the sponsor assumes all financial responsibility for the wedding if we do not pay. This couple was willing to go out on a limb for us and that means a lot.
In light of this my Fiance and I have decided we’d like to get them a gift as a token of our appreciation. However I’m really struggling to come up with ideas. I’d like to do something nice and give it to them well before our wedding but we(nor they) aren’t really going to have the time to sit down and get to know each other.
Any suggestions for gift that would convey our gratitude and appreciation?

A bottle of wine is always a classy gift. if they are active in a club they probably have get togethers so even if it’s not their favorite they would use it. I did Christmas giftsfrom some of Fiance family from this website http://www.winecountrygiftbaskets.com/ They had some nice options that worked for people I didn’t know that well. Or a gift card to a nice restaurant in town so they could go to dinner. Without knowing more about their interests it’s hard to personalize a gift.

@nikkialys: That’s a great idea.
I agree that since you aren’t close with them it can be tricky. I think something like a gift certificate to a nice restaurant in town would also be well received. And never underestimate a heartfelt thank you note along with it!

Yeah we’re working on a nice thank you card. I do like the wine idea and although I like the restaurant gift card idea I’d just be worried we’d get the wrong thing(give a 5 star steakhouse gift card to a vegitarian or give a sushi gift card to people who don’t like sushi)
Gah this is so hard! I really wish I could figure out a way to get us all together so we could get to know them a tiny bit better.
