I need help with this. We have a very large wedding party, but we do not need a flower girl. My fiance’s little sister is 13 yrs old (a young 13) and we decided that she should carry the rings down the isle. She’ll be walking by herself, but now we’re unsure if she should carry a basket with the rings or a pillow. And does it look odd?
The flower baskets are a little too big for the rings, but having a smaller basket with rings will look funny for a 13 yr old to carry. Right? Someone mentioned the pillow which I thought was neat, but again, being that she’s female, won’t it seem funny?
Really trying to figure out what to buy as the accessory and am open to any and new ideas! Thanks in advance for all the help because right now, I need it!! 🙂

martha has directions for gorgeous ring pillows, or there are always those bowls from paloma’s nest on etsy. i don’t think it would be weird at all for a girl to carry the rings. it would be way too juvenile for her to carry a basket, though.

Make her a jr bridesmaid. Have her carry a bouquet and secure ribbon to the handle and tie the rings on just as you would on a pillow or perhaps use 12 gauge floral wire to secure a nice ring box in the center of the flowers. That way she can step up when the time comes and simply be holding her bouquet and the two of you can retrieve your rings.
Best of luck to you!

I had a 13 yr old girl as my ring bearer too! I used a ring bowl from Paloma’s nest, but I also considered doing something like this pillow made of flowers or attaching the rings to a floral pomander.

@superk: We’re checking out the ring bowls … those are so cute! Still open to other ideas, but so far, that’s the best alternative!! Thank you!!!!

I would also say a bowl, or a nest, or even one of those ring “cubes” like this one:

What if you gave her a little purse or clutch to put them in? More age appropriate and still gets the job done.

Thank you all for helping … all the advice has been great!! Currently going over ideas with Fiance and seeing what he says. After all, he has to feel like he has some type of responsibility to this wedding. :giggles: Thanks again guys and still welcoming more responses!!!
All you bees are the best!!
