Are you absolutely sure it won’t fit?  At just 3 months you will just be beginning to show although everyone is indeed different.

Did you try it on?  It’s a gorgeous dress!  Surely some amazing seamstress out there can make magic?

I’ve had friends that barely showed at 13 weeks. Have you consulted your doctor on how big the baby will be at that time? Before you freak out, I wouldn’t take advice like that from the dress shop lady, she could be trying to get you to buy a new dress! It has ruching and I know that usually slims you down. I really feel like she might be making you hysterical for no reason?

At 13 weeks you should barely be showing.  If you go for a dress with a full bottom that is either natural waist or umpire waist, no one will ever see you tiny baby bump.  Dresses like these would work.

@Naiexoxo: You got it with a corset right? That should help you go up a size. Also, I was pretty sure most dresses have a little bit of an allowance to be taken out. But really, the seamstress is talking as if you’ll be 9 months on the day of your wedding. I doubt you’ll have gained much weight at all in the next 7 weeks, especially if you’re not gorging on food as an excuse cause you’re pregnant ๐Ÿ™‚

I would get another seamstresses opinion, and explain that you will be only 13 weeks along and see how much allowance you have in size. You can also work out while you’re pregnant, so maybe you can tone up as well? I honestly don’t think you need a new dress, no one will notice.

@Naiexoxo: All of those are from David’s bridal so you should definitely be able to find them

From six weeks until about 10 weeks, I was always total bloat.  By week 10, that bloat went away and I didn’t even look pregnant!  I didn’t start showing until I was about 20 weeks!  I think you’ll be fine with your dress!  Do NOT do anything with your dress until you are closer to your wedding.  My guess is that your baby bloat will go down, too.

On TV, I’ve seen 2 pregnant brides wear ruched dresses like yours.  The show on WE that was in Texas (can’t remember what it was called), the lady was 7 months pregnant and you couldn’t tell from some angles.  On SYTTD, it didn’t look so good but  the lady was a LOT further along than you will be.

Find a different seamstress.  With a corset back, some Spanx and maybe letting it out, I bet your dress is just fine.

Everyone is differnt, of course, but you might want to visit a regular maternity store that has the “practice bumps” so you can get an idea of what differnt style clothes look like at that stage.

At 13 weeks you may well not be showing that much. A friend of mine was pregnant at her wedding, and with the ruching on her gown, you really could not tell. I’d say if you are very nervous about it look into some inexpensive backup dresses (perhaps even an ornate white bridesmaid gown) with an empire waist, but I wouldn’t get rid of/give up on your dress yet.
