Do you have dining table options you have picked out or you want ppl to suggest options?

Wow. You are a saint, OP. I would have blown a gasket if someone replaced my furniture and/or painted my wall while I was out. The way your apartment looked before her meddling was beautiful, as I am a big fan of the dark wood and more simplistic look. I like what I can see of the dining set in picture 4.

If you want suggestions, though, we need to know what kind of finish you prefer and the size/shape you were looking for. Oval? Rectangular? Round? How many does it need to be able to seat?

I love your house!  FWIW, I think the dark blue looks nice & works with modern.  But I get wanting to paint it too.  And I agree that you are a saint.

When I was on the hunt for a dining table I found the best modern options, that were affordable, and convertible at West Elm.  I needed to be able to extend for entertaining but keep a smaller profile for everyday use since our dining room is a tight, but long-ish space.  It looks like yours might be more spacious.  We waited for a sale & got a pretty good discount.  We didn’t have to wait long for the sale & if I remember correctly it was around this time of year.

I was all about my dining room table too, so I can relate.  I’ve been trying to settle on a coffee table for two (three?) years now, somehow it’s the hardest choice of any in this house in terms of furniture & decorating.  Been using stacked rattan poofs from ikea, maybe that’s what it’s meant to be.

planningwife311 : The pillows that come with your sofa give you a jumping off point for a color palette for the living room, AND they pull in the blue on the wall.

You could add two cream (pulled from the cream welt on the sofa) accent chairs, one on either side of the sofa, to make a conversation area.

I would look for a neutral area rug, as you said, but one with bits of color, to tie everything together.

As for the dining room, did you check out furniture at this place?

Look at the dining table second from the left, top row.

The nailhead detail is repeated from the accent chairs in the living room.
