What about this bride’s outfit? She got married in a white tulle skirt and the blouse she wore on their first date?

I also think the blue checked shirt you had on in the picture would work also. You will be a beautiful bride no matter what you pick.

So I didn’t read through all the responses so someone may have already posted this but if the plaid looks odd to you, maybe something like this? I read that the girl that did the plaid shirt photo shoot just took an old cheap dress, cut the skirt off and added the wide band.

KatieBee11:  Hi! Was it a one of a kind? I would check who the seller was and see if maybe they had more than one? Couldn’t hurt to try.  You will find something!

MissRedneck:  I love that!

OP – looking at all these examples of denim or plaid shirts with tulle skirts, I think you could definitely pull it off – even maybe using a shirt you already have, if it’s in good enough condition.

The main thing is the shirt needs to be fitted through the waist, not loose, otherwise you’ll get a “bag lady” effect with a baggy shirt and full skirt.

If the shirt itself is not tightly fitted then you’ll need a wide belt or sash to cinch it – just like most of the brides in the examples on this page have done.

Also these, which I chose because of the lace panel which gives it a bridal feel:

You can’t quite tell, but I think the lace in this one is white, which would look good with the tulle I think:

I would just be careful about anything too bulky or heavy on top – no thick sweaters or bulky jackets – because that won’t work with the line of the skirt.

Also, be careful of a top that comes down lower than the waist – it should be able to be tucked in to the skirt or a wide belt, ideally, otherwise you’ll lose the entire line of the skirt.

One of the reason tulle skirts look great because they define your waist. If the top is hanging over the waist, especially if it’s baggy as well, you’ll lose that waist definition, not to mention it could look sloppy.

Just found this link and thought you might like it.

She really rocks the denim shirt, plus it has special meaning. Maybe you have a shirt with special meaning to you in your closet? Then you’d save yourself a shopping trip too. πŸ™‚

OR you could do something like this:

That skirt comes in a white/off white color it looks like, for only $28 (here: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/painted-threads-knit-a-line-skirt-juniors-online-only/3715821?origin=category&cm_ven=Linkshare&cm_cat=partner&cm_pla=15&cm_ite=1&siteId=QFGLnEolOWg-Pbo9V.hi1c9TuaqfGq1i3w).

I actually own the skirt in black (I loved this outfit) and mix and match it with a few different formal and casual button up blouses and sweaters and love it.

(example of how it looks with a sweater)

I’d order a few sizes and then just return the one that doesn’t fit, because I found the sizing to be a bit weird (in the end though my normal size worked).

If you like the sweater look you could go wit this one, only $19:

I’d also wear a slip under the white skirt to be safe. And the shoes and necklace I posted above would still work πŸ™‚
