@mx4_legault:  I’ve seen some cute ideas in Pinterest… Most commonly I see it in the favors, some characters, a chalk board with a funny quote, etc.

Cake topper, invitations, save the dates, guest favors, cardbox, instead of “table 1, 2, 3, 4” name them your favorite geeky stuff!

He could wear TARDIS cufflinks

TARDIS cufflinks are cool.

We’re having a wedding reading from Douglas Adams

Doctor themed table cards maybe? I don’t know how many tables you’ll have but you could put pictures of the corresponding doctor on the table cards if you’ll have 11 or fewer.

A cake topper featuring your favorite gaming or sci-fi OTP/canon pairing might not go amiss, or if you’re feeling spendy, a geeky cake theme in general. Maybe something Portal related, what with the whole cake… thing. ;D

A photobooth with geek props (try thinkgeek.com for a lot of this stuff a fez, bowtie, something tardisy, star trek pins, mini portal gun, 8-bit tie, 8-bit hair bow…)

Comic book or video game styled invitations/STDs. (I’m planning to put the Mystery Science Theater 3000 sillouhettes on mine. Feel free to steal that idea if you like it.)

Fiance and I are just like you – geeks who act immature youthful whenever we can get away with it and don’t take things too seriously.

Grooms cake?

Or a little hidden surprise like this (but with whatever you want instead of spider man)

A fun Garter

Look at this bouquet (you might be able to do it with real or fake flowers instead of paper flowers)

We are also kind of geeky/nerdy… I was denied the XKCD wedding cake that we saw, but we have ended up incorporating some LED lit escort cards, library references in our favor table, a puzzle guest book, he denied me test tube/beaker centerpieces, we used HTML code for our favors (some people will get it, some won’t)…

My new random thought of the day is if you made Binary table numbers (worst case is people have to match escort card to symbol on table)…

You could also “Bazinga” your shoes (cutting out, pasting it, bedazzling, etc), or if you’re doing a photo (or fauxto) booth, add signs that reflect that, along with like, an Einstein wig or something, or make Tardis be the backdrop?

Currently we’re also working on how to make “games” at the tables (for adults) that aren’t too “childish” but entertaining.

I wanted to invite David Tennant to the wedding …  but my husband said no because I’d probably try to marry him instead (yeahhhhh probably…)

One of my friends had a TARDIS cake…   love those cufflinks too!!

We’re having a TARDIS groom’s cake!! AND for my present to him, I’m getting him The Master’s watch. Maybe set up a “marriage algorithm,” or just use Sheldon’s “friendship algorithm” as a template. I could really see that being a cute sign that your other geeky guests will love.

PPs have said it already, but Pinterst and OffBeatBride are both really helpful with geeky weddings.

Don’t forget that you can play with the music, too! Darling Husband walked to the Game of Thrones theme and I walked in to the Deep Space Nine theme. We entered the reception with the Doctor Who theme. Vitamin String Quartet has really nice arrangements of almost any geeky song you can think of!

We did the Tardis cufflinks, too. You can find them surprisingly cheap on Etsy. I think DH’s were about $15.
