So I cannot decide what to use for my colors. I have a few ideas… im getting married oct 20 2012. I have gone from orange to neutrals to now merlot
the reason I am leaning toward merlot is because I am going to do the convertible dresses ( the ones that can change the top to any style) and I found a pretty wine or merlot color that I like.
I want to have mason jars with lace wrapped around the outside and burlap runners on the tables… so that leads to my next question..
will merlot go with burlap and lace? and if so what color should my bouquets be and centerpieces?
thank you so much for your help!

Merlot will be perfect for an autumn wedding! It definitely works with burlap and lace.

I think merlot goes with burlap/mason jars. Maybe in your bouquets incorporate peach and a nice pastel green??

Okay, here I go. Don’t mind me – I LOVE envisioning color combos – haha.
I think Merlot is a gorgeous color, just make sure you pair it with something light so that you can incorporate your neutral touches with no clashing. I’m getting married in the Spring but originally I wanted Fall of 12′ and I was looking at doing a wine color with blush pink and cream/ivory flowers. I think it’s very romantic and would totally fit in with the lace and burlap look.
This is a bit more ‘purple’ than I had in mind but you get the idea:

merlot is awesome for autumn time..its very classy with lace and burlap. I would add accents of deep oranges and light yellows to make the colors pop! good luck

I want to do the merlot color in the swatches… which color palette should I go with… the purple and grey palette… or the other palette with the light pinks? ( not the green haha)
or other options?
thank you so much for all of the responses they have helped sooo much!
