I was set on having hydrangeas in my wedding because I just love the fuller blooms but I am really struggling with colours to go with them. Everything that I look at just seems to be the wrong shade or feels too dark for a June wedding.
This is my inspiration picture:
These are the flowers that I purchased:
I haven’t been able to find anything that “goes” with the flower colour with the exception of a royal purple or a dark blue for my maids to wear
Any colour ideas?

Have you thought about green? Some people don’t like blue and green together, but I do!

my sisster (though her wedding was years ago) had blueish purple hydrageas and all the girls were in a really pale yellow. it looked really pretty!

I think your inspiration pic with the light blue hydrangeas and white flowers would look nice and romantic with lots of candles

@Beluga: I like green and have definitely been considering it. I just can’t seem to find a shade that I love.
@totheislnds: I never thought of yellow… good idea I will look into that.
@bran83: I thought about periwinkle but I can’t seem to find dresses in the right shade? They are always leaning more toward the blue than the purplish blue.

maybe a pale gray? i’d avoid silver satin unless all your girls are thin/statuesque. seems to add an extra 10 to the hips!
HOWEVER… i vote yellow. love it!

I’d have never thought of yellow but I think it sounds beautiful and perfect for spring/early summer!

Hydrangeas are my favorite flower so I definitely thought of using them. I ended up going with red flowers instead though (I’m doing red and aqua)
I like yellow though. The more victorian feel of hydrangeas can be balanced with craspedia, and the softness of the blues can be balanced by the sunny yellow.
