Ok Here is the story.
Ever since my fiance proposed 3 years ago, I pored over site after site finding a dress until I came across the ultimate beauty. I had one dress in mind that I wanted.. the Maggie Sottero AMARA ROYALE (scarlet)… I wanted in red… and there was no changing my mind. Until….. in 2008 I won my entire wedding ensemble for the bridal party including Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, Bridal gown, and all tuxes. I even won the wedding rings. Well the sponsor for the contest was David’s Bridal, and so I had to naturally choose from their options of gowns… I have pasted below that dress as well (ivory).
I consider myself a complimentary mix of Classic and Contemporary… and what made me want the AMARA ROYALE so bad was that she was SCARLET! MY colors are Scarlet, Gold, and Ivory for my wedding. And somehow I feel I subconsciously chose those to match this dress lol.
Ok here is my dilemma… I have a beautiful dress that I’ve won, and then the dress that I feel is “THE ONE”…. What in the world should I do?
I am on a strict budget so the following are my options.
1.)Sell The DB dress and pay $1000 for Maggie original (fork up extra 500)
2.)Sell DB dress and buy Maggie replica for roughly the same cost (no profit loss)
3.)Be a DIVA and keep both dresses opting for the affordable replica (additional 425 for replica)
4.) OR suck it up, be happy and blessed I have a beautiful dress I didn’t have to pay for (FREE!)
OK ladies be nice… IF you have an opinion try to be as courteous as possible. YOu input is greatly appreciate.
By the way if I was going with the replica I was going with Ieie.. her work is GORGEOUS! Not a bad thing to say… way better than ordering overseas and from shady online places. SHe hand sews everything she sells. I am in Dallas and she is in NEW JERSEY but she has definitely been a BIG help in this decision process (http://www.ieieshop.com/)
By The Way the girl in the picture is one of my BMs modeling the outfits I have for them as well.
