I feel terrible because I asked FI if he even wanted to do wedding gifts for each other (because of all the money we are forking out for the wedding itself), and he said “hell yeah! I already have yours and I’m really excited to give it to you!”. Welllll…I have no idea what to get him, and he has eluded to the fact that I am going to love what he got me because it is something I have been wanting for awhile. Geez, he is a sweetheart, but now I’m self-counsciou because I dont have an equally awesome idea for him. Help! What are some of you getting for your groom??

There’s probably something that he really wants, but you just aren’t thinking it’s a stereotypical wedding gift.
My friend bought her now husband a flat screen tv as a gift and had it wall mounted while they were on their honeymoon. I brought him the gift to the hotel room and he started crying. It was funny to see him cry over a tv and for her to cry over a piece of her grandmother’s heirloom jewelry that he had reset and fixed for her. Groom’s gifts don’t have to be the standard same old thing. Think outside the box.

I’m giving my Fiance a ski weekend getaway to the Adirondacks over MLK weekend in January. I’ve book our rental via http://www.vrbo.com (vacation rental by owner). I did this because he was bummed we really couldn’t afford a major ski vacation as we do each year because of the wedding and honeymoon.
So I thought a ski weekend at Gore Mountain would be great. And so I’m very excited.
He also plays the drums, a gift I bought for him on our 1st Christmas together and now wonder what the heck I was thinking! LOL. Anyway, I got him drum kit cufflinks from seller on etsy. They ROCK!
What are your FIs interests? Does he want the latest and greatest Ipod? What about a camera? Stuff like that?

@mwitter80 :Funny that you mentioned the flat screen TV, because I have thought about doing that. We need one for our bedroom (already have a big one in the living room). I have also thought about a video camera. This might sound weird, but I know he really wants a table saw…is that completely far fetched as a wedding gift? lol. Maybe I should save that for Christmas? I didnt want to spend hundreds of dollars on this gift.
Some of his interests are: Different beers and breweries (he is a “world beer club member” because he has tried hundreds of beers from all over the world), He races boats, He is a very out-doorsy person, like to camp, ect.

I got my hubby a pair of cufflinks from a seller on Etsy. They are map sterling silver cufflinks. You can customize what map she uses to places that are special to you and your fiance. I chose the spot we got engaged and the spot where we got married. He LOOOOOVED them!!

I got mine club level seats to his favorite teams home opener, and took him out to dinner.
I half jokingly asked him during a break in the game if he would have rathered a sentimental, romantic gift like a monogrammed watch or something timeless. He looked at me like I was on the crack. hahaha
The team won, including a last minute goal in the last 15 seconds of the game. He said it was one of the best nights of his life and something he’ll remember forever.
