With August you can do any color combination you want. I wouldn’t consider it a “fall” wedding, but more like a late summer wedding. I like the bright color combos, but it’s not for everyone. Had I planned a summer wedding, I would love to do a combo of turquoise and lime. However, I am getting married in October, so I do have a fall wedding.  After obsessing forever and going back and forth, I finally decided on red and purple, red because it is FI’s favorite and purple is mine. I am very happy with my choice and so is Fiance.

August is still summer so you can do any colors you like.

Do you have a venue booked or one in mind? Sometimes it’s easier to pick colors after you know your venue.

What type of reception are you planning?

Are you familiar with http://www.theperfectpaletteblog.com/  ? on  this site you can click on “colors” at the top, then pick a color you like and see many different palettes that include that color.

@Mrs.W2012: I am doing black and white because I love minimalistic/contemporary designs. I always wear black also.. including black nailpolish.. so it suited me. I am a huge fan of pastels though.. and with a summer wedding you could totally do that! Maybe a soft yellow or dusty rose?

August is definitely summer, not fall. Don’t worry about what your family and friends say, do whatever makes you happy. πŸ™‚

Definitely summer!

I would take a look around your house or your closet – are there colors that seem to pop up a lot?  That’s sort of how I fell into mine – I knew my favorite color was orange, but started to realize I had a LOT of orange and aqua stuff in my closet and home.  Sticking with those for the most part, adding in white, yellow, bright pink and green just in flowers.

And knowing me – no matter what time of year it was, there’d be bright colors involved πŸ™‚

Good luck!

August is definitely summer.

When we were planning our wedding, I liked that our wedding planner asked us what colours we like to decorate our house with.  (Maybe if you don’t live together this isn’t the best question for you).  That key question gave us just the right direction.

(PS. We got married last August: it’s a great month for getting married! Our colours were new-leaf greens with white and a bit of espresso brown……..we had a ‘natural’/forest theme

Do you like a vintage look? This is a great look for a garden wedding.

You could look for vintage tablecloths in the colors you like. If they are not big enough you can use them as toppers over white cloths.

I looove the color combo of purple and blue, and maybe like magenta or green as a third color. I felt pressured to use fall colors for my wedding, so I’m going with dark purple and gold, but if I had chosen a summer wedding, my colors most definitely would have been purple and blue. Hope this helps!

My new color obsession is a kiwi green with coral, i think using copper would be pretty for an August wedding. Here are some of my favorite Fall color ideas, let meknow what you think.

Kiwi and coral

Coral and forest green:

Copper and pink:

Moss and Blush Copper
