So, I need to figure a way of telling my boyfriend something, without telling him directly. Lemmie explain…(this might get long…sorry)
Valentines day 2012, my guy and me went on a little vacation in state to celebrate. As a gift he gave me a gift of another trip…get this ladies…PARIS!!! Woot! I have never been to Europe. This trip is going to be a birthday slash valentines day slash 2 year anniversary trip. Woohoo, so cool…started planning with him, all is well.
Jump a few weeks later… it occurs to me that he might be planning to propose. At the time, I felt I wasn’t ready, (for various reasons, some including the fact that I had yet to find a job in this tiny town). So, I brought it up, and told him I didn’t expect him to be proposing. He seemed to either say that he wasn’t planning on it, or he was covering up… I’m not quite sure.
Ok, jump again to last month. We were playing our Wii, and having a blast, and it hit me. OMG, I get to have a live in best friend, that I never have to worry about not having by my side. I realized I WAS ready to marry this lovely man! Along the way, I let him know that whenever he was ready I was… we looked at rings, (ended up buying one that was on sale). Only with me knowing it wouldn’t be Right away.
Well that is all fine and dandy. BUT, I can NOT get it out of my head that I want him to propose in Paris… gah, it is like the movie Inception, the seed of the idea is in my head, and no shaking can get it out!
This is my dilemma. How do I let him know that he can ask, since I have previously told him not to? Without actually saying to him, propose to me in paris. I don’t want to ruin anything like surprises or any of his plans. Or should I just let it go, and be disappointed if he doesn’t? I realize I’m sounding a bit silly, but this is the only place I can go to get advice on this. No one else knows we bought a ring.
