I think the new pictures look a lot more like the original. I will admit that I don’t have an “eye” for dress issues, but really it looks pretty close when I scrolled all the way back up. I mean, the original DOES have sort of a mermaid-y bottom to it with the flare.

It still looks a little like a mermaid from the front (but the point where it flares out has definately been raised). But it looks trumpet from the back, so it might just be the angle.

To make the bottom flare like you want it too they would need to pretty much start again. Unless they have a heap of spare fabric in the seams it wouldn’t be possible to let it out to start the flare higher. Hope that makes sense, kind of hard to explain 🙂

The original is an A Line dress. This version is more mermaid.

I think it looks way better and much more like the original!  It always looks different on the model, on the dress dummy, and then on you when you finally get to try it on, but picture for picture it looks pretty darn good to me!  =o)

I think it looks much more like the original now.  It looks like there is a pretty good sized crinoline under it.  If that was a little smaller, it would probably be more of a slim A-line shape and more like the original dress.  I like the change you had them make.  It’s a beautiful dress!

to be honest i cant always tell the mermaid from trumpet from fit/flare or whatever unless its super mermaidy and looks strange. i think the newer dress looks much better then the original photos they sent you.. and it looks SO similar to the original dress!! they did a great job as far as i can tell.. the dress looks gorgeous!

    wow, it looks lovely!

i think the original dress is techinically ‘trumpet’ which is between an a-line and mermaid…

their revision on the dress is good, but if you want them to change it, and you can afford it, go ahead. but I think it’s gorgeous.

btw… I think you should have posted this in the dress forum..

I agree that it flares too low down in the first photos. They have improved it a bit, but it still flares lower down than the original. However I doubt if there’s enough fabric in the dress to let the skirt out any more – they would basically have to start over.

Are you having the ribbon belt? I think it will make a difference to the appearance of the silhouette.

Oh that’s my dress 🙂  The new pictures look more like the original and I think when you add the sash it will help. I hope you post a pic of you wearing the dress when you get it!
