I’m just looking forward to my bachelorette party! I think after that is over, it will really hit me that the wedding is so close. Right now I just feel like I’m still looking forward to something in between now and the wedding, so it hasn’t hit me yet.

last Saturday Fiance and I took a day just for us. We drove up to a nearby lake, had lunch at a great seafood place and walked the park along the shoreline. After that we came back into town and went mattress shopping LOL We plan to use any monetary gifts we get (if we are lucky enough to get any) and put it towards a new bed, we desperately need one! After that we went to the mall, window shopped and had dinner out too.

Fiance is a police officer and works overnights so the hours we see each other can be really messed up sometimes even though we do live together. It was nice for us to just get away for a day and forget about all the planning and reconnect! We had a fun day.

I really hope we can fit it into our funds to have a weekend away with the kids this month.  Not sure if it’ll happen though.

Other events coming up before the wedding that I am super excited about:

Thanksgiving.  My family will be flying in that day (Thursday before the wedding) and I am planning a nice T-day dinner.  It’ll be the very first Thanksgiving with all of them so I am so happy about that.

Bachelorette.  We talked yesterday about it with my girls and we’re trying to iron out all the details. Right now we’re planning a night out but it could turn into an overnight, so we’ll see.

E-Serenade.  cannot wait for this YAY. It’s tradition in fi’s family… I will get serenaded by a mariachi band or trio and we’ll have dancing and food.  Not sure when it will be but it’ll happen closer to the wedding.

And then the Rehearsal Dinner.  I have bever been to one and am so excited about this.  I really am so blessed that all my oot family will be here that day and we can sit, laugh, relax and have some good food.

My FH and I are Jewish, so we will not be seeing each other for over a week before the wedding. Some couples don’t see each other at all after they’re engaged!

I do get a Shabbos Kallah, though. The Saturday before my wedding a bunch of friends will come over for a party. Nothing too major, just nosh and talk, but it’s fun and you get to spend time with your friends.
