Ok first for a little background:
At 25 weeks pregnant I went into preterm labor and was put on hospital bed rest until I gave birth. So needless to say I developed a close relationships with all my nurses there since my stay was rather lengthy (almost 4 weeks). The nurses were amazing, the food service people friendly, and I made a great friends with the environmental services.
Anyway I wanted to give the units something to show my appreciation. I originally planned on catering a meal for them…all of them, nurses on day and night shift (night shift always gets screwed out of fresh meals), food services, and EVS, and of course the NICU staff. But since Darling Husband and I considerably broke due to me not working since December that idea is a wee bit too expensive.
So I thought of making up baskets for each of the units full of snacks that I can buy in bulk (thanks Sam’s Club!). This is where I need you ladies for your input. These are the things we are thinking of:
-Various Candy Bars
-Maybe some fruit
I didn’t add any coffee or anything like that since the nurses can grab that for free from the hospital. But do you ladies have any other ideas? I’m trying to stray away from perishables or anything messy. Thank you ladies!
