I don’t think bridesmaid dresses should look identical to your dress at all! The idea that bridesmaid dresses have to “go” with bridal gowns is beyond me. As long as formality is somewhat on par I think you’re fine. What are your colors?

I don’t think Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses need to be similar in style to the bridal gown… I don’t know where this idea came from!  It’s all too matchy-matchy for me… especially when I see flower girl dresses that have similar style elements to the bridal gown.  Tongue out

As long as the dresses have the same feel aka formality level than the BMs can wear any style!

I actually prefer if the neckline is a bit different from the brides that way there is more variability and dimension to the wedding party; however, if you want them to have the same neckline then go for it!

@ejs4y8:  My thoughts exactly!  Like this is just bizarre to me… WHY would you put a 5 y/o in a strapless dress??!!  (I know the OP isn’t asking about Flower Girl dresses, but I just wanted to show what I was talking about in my previous post).

My daughter wore a halter and the girls were strapless. Go with what you like!
