im going on holidays in 18days and i need to lose weight fast.
i know the whole healthy eating thing is good, which id consider myself to be a healthy enough eater but i want a quick fix if you will?
i know il probably gain it back after, which is fine because then il switch back to my normal diet.
so any tips/advice would be much appreciated:)
im 5’1″ and currently 153lbs, i just want to lose some of the belly, and thighs, although i think thats wishfull thinking:P
also any low calorie recipes would be great too!

do a LOW CARB diet….absolutely no refined sugars…. no bread, rice, potatoes or pasta at all. all fruits and veggies. no red meat. only lean proteins. tons of water. That will definitely help; but cutting out the carbohydrates is key….good luck!

ok this is probably a stupid question, but what do i eat instead of carbs?
i tend to eat lots of them, and i know if i go off them i will be starving so i need to try fil myself up with something else.

I agree- when I need a quick fix (although I think it is very unhealthy)- I stay off carbs and eat: eggs, chicken, steak (any kind of meat really- but lean is best)- vegetables low in starch (stay away from potatoes, yams, corn, peas, beets and eat broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, spinach, etc)
You can have a little plain yogurt with splenda instead of real sugar- you can also have cheese.
There are websites where you can check out how many carbs are in each food item- keep it under 50 or 60 and youll lose weight fast- keep it under 10-20 and youll lose weight even faster.

I hear the special K diet works well, and it’s only a 2 week program. I’m pretty sure the only component to the diet is calorie restriction though.
A real tip would be to drink tons and tons of water and avoid salty foods. You’ll lose 5 pounds of water weight pretty quickly. It doesn’t last, but its a good kickstart.

chicken breast with a piece of lite swiss cheese on top. Eat nothing but chicken breast. You will drop weight super fast.

Yep, if you want to drop weight fast do a low carb high protein diet.
Bascially minimal fruit (only very low sugar fruit) and some fiber veggies, and you can eat as much meat as you want, lean is even better.
Keep your carb gram intake under 15 per day and you will drop weight super fast.

Atkins baby.. all the way. It’s def. not healthy long term, and you won’t poop until after your vacation 😛 but nothing peels the weight off faster.

I think South Beach Phase 1 is best. It allows more foods than atkins, its healthier and just as effective.
you can google it and come up with the rules and allowed foods. Basically its lean meats, low GI vegetables, no sugar or grains. IT allows low fat cheese, 1 cup of non fat yogurt per day. No fruits. Its doable!

Have you heard of the General Motors Diet? I do it when I need to lose weight in a pinch (I don’t gain it back after if I eat healthy and cut back on carbs and refined sugars) —

Atkins is the way.
I do low carb and love it…and contrary to what some think…it IS HEALTHY. You just have to learn the program and do it right. Eat well and be healthy.
The old version (of Atkins) got a bad rap.
When I did it before I got preggers with my daughter, I was within 10 pounds to my goal weight and feeling great.
I gained a lot of weight during my pregnancy and am back on it. I eat meats (all kinds) dairy (cream, cheese, eggs), tons of veggies (salads, mushrooms, green beans, asparagus, you name it) I stay away from the high carb veggies.
I also am in the 2nd phase and am working my weigh up, so now I am eating berries….and also nuts…
Very satisfied…and you will lose weight.

It works for me! It varies for people. The first time I did it, I lost 11 pounds (probably mostly water, but still)… my whole family did it together and our weight loss ranged from 7 lbs – 13 lbs. My brother gained it all back because he went back to eating crap after, but my mom has been able to maintain it because she eats healthy and exercises. I gained some of it back because I went on vacation and ate decadent food for about a week, but it’s easy enough to go back to following the diet even for a few days. I always feel great after doing it.
I have a friend that does it about once every two months and then just eats healthy (low carb, high protein, low fat, low salt) when she’s off it. She hates exercising so for her, following this diet helps her lose weight and maintain the weight loss.
As was said by the PPs, this type of diet is NOT a healthy way to lose weight in the long-term. Also, for people like my dad who need to watch their sugar, it’s not recommended. However, whenever I feel blah and want to jump start weight loss, doing this diet works for me. 🙂
