I am currently not doing any kind of work out’s because I am trying to do all the research I can before starting my fitness expodition. I currently am 5’8 and weigh about 230-250 (I haven’t weighed in a while because I can’t find our bathroom scales, so I’m guessing haha!) As far as my body type, I’m heavier on top than on bottom (I don’t know what you would call that). I am lacking in the cheast area. I’m about a B cup size. I swear it changes every day lol.
I realize that when I loose weight, my boobs and butt will be the first to go. My question is, are there any work out’s I can do that will help me keep them? Or maybe even help them to be bigger? I don’t really want to end up with man pecks, but they must be doing something right, because some guys have bigger chesticles than I do!
Any advice anyone can give me would be a great help! I would love to feel confident in a swimsuit by this summer. I have a diet already figured and worked out, but I don’t really know much in the exercise dept.

@spence1022: I think you’re trying to say you tend to carry most of your weight around your mid-section? I tend to gain weight there, as well. Before I lost weight people would think I was pregnant because I was fairly thin in my legs and arms. It’s difficult to spot-reduce. Different people genetically tend to carry weight differently. I would advice toning your entire body as you lose weight to help decrease the amount of loose skin you may have. I had an issue with that when I first lost weight in my tummy and found that Pilates, along with other core-strengthening exercises helped me tone that area up. As far as breast go, they are fat. When I was heavier, I wore a D. I’m a B now but because I’m building muscle and losing fat now, my breasts are smaller but more perky. Chest presses, shoulder presses, push-ups, and lateral arm raises will help tone your upper body and chest, as well.

Having a baby would increase your bust size,but lets not do anything that drastic LOL. Any excercise involving the chest will increase chest size and give the appearance of a larger front but not cup size. There are always implants :)…lol

@spence1022: I’m not sure about boob increasing exercises but you can do squats and leg lifts to help tone your butt. Even though you lose in that area first when you work out, it’ll allow you to tone and define what’s left so it won’t look as drastic.

Stair master will help ur tush but I’ve never heard of an excercise helping ur cup size, go buy a Victoria’s Secret bikini top.. it doesn’t make ur boobs look huge but the cleavage is amazing 🙂

When you start to lose weight, it will gradually come off your bust. I had a friend in high school who was about 5’6 and 250 pounds and she went from a dd to a b and down to 150.
Your boobs are fat, you won’t lose all of them, but chances are their size well decrease. I don’t think theres anything you can do about that. My doctor explained it to me as this, basically – when you lose weight, youre bound to lose it from your boobs, but it will all be the extra fat yours boobs gained from the extra fat on your body, and that it’s good to lose the fat that shouldn’t of been there on the first place.
I think you should start walking/running. If you can’t run, do 2 minutes at 2.5 on the treadmill, than jog at a 4.5 and then go bak to 2.5, then do that a couple times. Studies found that you can lose weight just as effectively with sudden intenses burst of exercises.
Also, try and work out on an empty stomach!

I realize this is old, but I wanted to chime in. I agree with PP; HOWEVER there are a few things you can do to help this. Mainly, you will need to build muscle in your chest and glutes to preserve their shape. Doing exercises like chest presses, chest flies, burpies, and even pushups will help. Google “best chest exercises, free weights” and see what you find.
Re: booty : Girl, lunges are your friend. Forward lunges, backward lunges, sumo squats, leg lifts, etc.
You’ll obviously loose fat from these areas as you lose weight, but if you’re building muscle, you’ll see that the shape will improve and you’ll get a natural “lift.”
