Ladies I need your great ideas! I’m going to start having “Accessory Parties” similar to purse, passion parties, ect. So a little back story- I started my own little business last year selling Western Accessories. This is 100% my own thing, which I’m proud of 🙂 I began making custom flasks (designs and pictures wrapped around them and then sealed) and Redneck/cowgirl drinking glasses (mason jars on stems). From there I started adding (Not handmade) wallets, purses, jewelry, rhinestone belts, dog collars, ect. Everything has a western flair. I try out all of the items to ensure they are great quality before I order them for my customers and always have low prices.
I always try to keep wallets (both men’s and women’s) on hand, sunglasses, a few caps, a pair of shoes in each size for size references, a few purses, and some jewelry. The rest of the items are order only. Someday I’ll have a big selection of the shoes, belts (women’s and children’s) and dog colors. But unfortunately that takes quite a bit of $$$ and space.
I haven’t gone to very may parties in the last few years (purse or passion parties). So I need your help coming up with fun games that you wouldn’t mind playing, ideas what I could give for prizes. Would you be happier with a % off of your purchase or would you rather have a small free item.
What should I give to the host? I had my first party last night and since it was my first I was extra generous. She received $10 to spend towards her purchase for every $50 spent at her party. I’m thinking of going off of the May Kay scale-
10% of sales go to the hostess order with no new parties booked
15% of sales go to the hostess order with one new party booked
20% of sales go to the hostess order with one new party booked
Plus a small gift
Eventually I would like to recruit my own consultants but I just don’t know how I’d work it. What is a fair % of the sales to go to the consultant and what % should go back to the business? What is a fair price for an individual to become a consultant? Do I come up with different starter packages? Do I sell the consultant items for a certain price and then they keep the profits from what they sell it for? I think that might be the fairest.
