  • poll: How should I handle the Charger situation

    Chargers at every other table would be visually interesting

    Chargers at every other table would look like you couldn't afford to do them at every setting

    Chargers - who cares.....no one will miss them

    Chargers are a must..... go with the 32 tables.

    @MrsMRS:  I haven’t seen this done, and I’m not too sure that it would be ideal.  I would honestly nix the idea of chargers if they won’t be at every table, but that’s just me!

    Have them at every table or have them at none. 

    Don’t worry, though… your tables will look beautiful without them. No one will even notice.

    I’ve never actually seen chargers at a wedding!

    I would just skip them!

    As much as I love the look of chargers (the girl doing my linens went out of her way to purchase red ones specifically for my wedding) it would have to be all or nothing.

    I don’t think anyone will notice them whether they’re there or not, unless they’re on every other table.  I would suggest doing all of the tables with chargers or none at all.

    I would skip them if you can only do every other table…..trust me no one will miss them except you! I don’t even think I have ever noticed them at a wedding to be honest!

    @MrsMRS:  You hit the nail on the head when you listed the choices in your poll. It will look like you couldn’t afford chargers for every guest.

    This is information from an event production website:

    Round reception tables generally come in a 60″ & 72″ diameter. Using rounds is always a favorite because it promotes conversation among your guests. A 60″ round table will comfortably sit 8 people and allows enough space for a charger at each place setting. A 72″ round table can comfortably sit 10 people. If you’re tight for space, 12 can be seated but it’s suggested not to use chargers in this situation. If round tables are the best solution for your reception try mixing up both 60″ and 72″ sizes.

    Can you do a trial run? Go to a party rental place and set up the tables with chargers and see if you have enough room.

    If you want the math:

    a 60″ table has a circumference of 188″, but 6.5 inches in from the edge of the table, (where the widest part of the charger will be), the circumference is only 147″. 10 chargers would need 130″ of that space leaving 17 inches or 1.7 inches between chargers.

    a 72″ table has a circumference of 226″, but 6.5 inches in from the edge of the table, (where the widest part of the charger will be), the circumference is only 185″. 10 chargers would need 130″ of that space leaving 55 inches or 5.5 inches between chargers.
