I hired my wedding planner, went to the bridal atelier … they both said one common thing: Close your eyes, picture all of the wonderful images that were in your dreams about your wedding day, now tell me … what did you dream of?
… but there’s one thing missing, my DREAMS! Every little girl dreams about her wedding, right? Wrong! I never once thought about getting married. I never imagined a wedding dress, the prince charming or even a horse and carriage at the church.
Now that it’s been since Feb. 2009 and I’ve gotten my feet wet, I’m addicted. All I do is think, eat, sleep, dream of all things wedding.

I’m laughing because in describing yourself, you managed to describe me precisely. I dreamed of suits and courtrooms and a career, not weddings. My friends and family laugh at me daily. And it just gets worse – now that we’re making invitation decisions, I find I have fallen in love with paper and getting the perfect invitation even though the invitation won’t make anyone have a better time.

yeah I’m the same, so much that my Fiance said all we do is talk about wedding and money; I’m stressed about spending too much
so I decided to chill, not forget my friends and not stress an talk about other things aside from the wedding

I didn’t dream about weddings either. I think your obsession will pass once you get things decided. At least for me, there was a point after I realized everything I could do when I was obsessed. Now, most everything is done, and I’m just ready to see it come together and enjoy it!

That is so funny because that is exactly how I am. I never dreamed anything about my wedding growing up. When my sister got married a few years ago, it got me to start thinking about my wedding but really not much at all. BUT when we got engaged back in December, I was spending hours everyday on our wedding that I was so obsessed. The one thing that helped me was that I had a few months down time since a lot of details were ironed out early on. Now I am back to being addicted. Also this site does not help at all !

totally agree, it will pass when you have decisions made about what you want at your wedding.
mine took 2 weeks to plan, and we are having it in 4 weeks.
i feel such relief that we got the planning done. I’d never dreamed of it either. but now it is a total dream without being too everything I am not. I got a beautiful dress, the best groom for me, a little church in australia on the beach, two amazing photographers, a celebrant and a bagpiper. Couldn’t more of a "dream".
once a few things are taken care of you will feel more relaxed.

I am right there with ya. I got so obsessed- I am now a Bee giving out ‘advice.’ haha. Have fun with it. You only get to do it once. And I think it just shows that you are a planner type- at least that’s what I tell myself.
