Aww tat’s so cute! MY Fiance and I actually started talking through myspace too! haha

We were in the same psychology class in high school. We were both quiet (later I found out that he is ANYTHING but quiet!) I am really shy, but thought to myself wow he’s so tall and cute. The next boy I’m going to date is going to be sweet and a little nerdy like him. I had spent the last 3 years dating the “cool” guitar playing guy at school and he was an A**HOLE! So one day Fiance and I were paired together to do a project and we talked a little, then that night I added him on myspace (HA!) and he told me he had a crush on me all year but didn’t think I’d like him. We’ve been together ever since

@eeerika22 @texasgirl29  Love your stories ladies!!! MySpace… gosh I almost forget about that site!

I met my love over the internet too, but not in the conventional-online-dating way or even the social networks, unless you count blogging as a social network. We were both blogging about our running/training from opposite sides fo the country; me from Florida, him in Michigan. He found my blog and left me a comment and we became blog buddies as we were both training for the same goal race, the Chicago Marathon. We met four months later at the expo for the race and he had me at “hello beautiful.” πŸ™‚ Did the LDR thing for about 8 months before I made the move to Michigan and we couldn’t be happier!

Through a friend’s Facebook status.  =)  We both agreed on the same thing.  I normally don’t friend request people I don’t know, but I did for some reason.  He told me later on that he usually doesn’t accept friend requests from complete strangers either.  It was fate.  =)

We both worked at Macy’s when we met…we didn’t talk on myspace but we would waste time talking in person a lot on the job!

I’ll play! LOL I’m a lot older but technology still has its part…

I met Fiance when I was in college back in 1986/1987. I had a crush on him all year and so finally got up the courage to talk to him at the end of freshman year when my dad got me tickets for U2…I asked him to go and he jumped at the chance. We went and had a great time, out all night–went to see another band the next month and then lost touch over the summer. He fully expected to reconnect back at school but I ended up leaving and going back home after a week and switching schools. My parents moved, then I met my (now EX) husband and fell off the face of the earth, was pregnant and married within months, had two kids back to back. Spent 20 years in a horrific marriage before extracting myself.

Six months into my divorce I was just dusting myself off and regaining my life and Fiance popped into my head. I’d thought of him often over the years (every time I passed the place my dad dropped me off to meet him to go to the U2 concert, and many other times) and looked him up on Facebook. There was no pic so I sent a cautious message saying “are you the same XXX that went to XXX back in the 80’s” never expecting an answer. Ten days later I got a message saying “Oh my GOD I can’t believe it’s you! Yours was the first message I opened when I saw your name!” (I later found out he only opened the account a couple weeks before and he rarely goes on there anyway so it’s miraculous that we reconnected at all).  We messaged back and forth for a couple of weeks and met up for dinner, we have been inseparable ever since.  It turns out he had come to look for me at school and my roommates were upset that I’d left so abruptly so they just said I wasn’t there and don’t ask.  He’d looked for me a few times over the years but I had a different name, address, phone number etc and that was before the internet and he had also changed schools.  He is my perfect match and it should have been him all along.  He never married, and I am happy to say our wedding is this August!  Oh and in his proposal he said, “In case you were wondering, yes I did attend XXX and in retrospect it was the best decision of my life!”

Cute story! My now husband bought the townhouse next door. So we were neighbors. We chatted briefly for a few months, then one night spent four hours talking outside. Went out on our first date about a week later. The rest is history. πŸ™‚

thanks, I love your story!

Also, the month after our reconnect we attended back to back U2 shows, then next month we won tickets for the Psychedelic Furs which was the other show we went to together back in the day.  Every step of the way it seems there are signs it’s just the right thing πŸ™‚

We had a TON of near misses over the years, for example we grew up over 50 miles apart and his childhood friend as an adult lived on the next block from me (which was still 50 miles away from his hometown), Fiance had visited his house there a few times which means he drove right past my house every time…so weird to think that we were literally a few feet apart all those times and never knew it!
