Two weeks out from the wedding and I went to pick up my dress last night at the seamstresses and I’m just feeling UGH about it. I bought it last August and never looked back, it was exactly what I was looking for – simple with NO train. Now I’m like “was it a mistake to get such a simple wedding dress?”
The top picture is when I first tried it on in the store last August and fell in love with it. I still do love the way it looks on me in that picture. The bottom picture is last night. Maybe I’ve gained some weight or something, I’m just not happy with how it looks now.
I seriously did NOT expect dress regret to happen to me!!! What should I do? My dress was only $300 so my mom said if I really want we can go shopping this weekend and see if I find another one. I dunno. With 2 weeks to go until my wedding I feel like I’m second-guessing the whole wedding (NOT the getting married part, just all the different decisions we’ve made about the day!) Sigh.

Hahahahahahaha this post is EXACTLY (like, down to title and all) like a post I sumbitted about an hour ago.
But HEY, you look gorgeous, and honestly you’re probably too close to change. I would try to add a few blingy accessories (dangly earrings or a sparkly belt) to give it more glam, but the dress fits you like a glove.

@LizLemon: Hahaha, I just saw your post too after I submitted mine and commented on it. For what it’s worth your dress is STUNNING!!!! 🙂

Honestly, the dress is really cute and you look beautiful it in. I would add blingy belt and jewelry!!!!!

Aww, I love your dress! Get a pretty, sparkly belt and some pretty jewelry and you’ll be good to go. 🙂

you look fantastic?? Why are you worried?
I have a very simple dress as well. You don’t need a bunch of “stuff” on your dress to look beautiful! and you do look beautiful.

@GroovyHippieChick: I don’t know, I just really was not a fan of how I looked in it last night. Maybe I’m bloated or something. I haven’t gained any weight since I first bought the dress (I mean like maybe 2-3 pounds) but I feel like I look way bigger in the second photo. And I HATE to be one of those girls complaining about looking “fat” but I just didn’t feel pretty when I put the dress on last night 🙁

Did you wear shapewear or anything underneath? I wore some for my cousin’s wedding last year and it made me FEEL better, even though my mom said she couldn’t see a difference. Sometimes these things are all in our heads…

I think you look absolutely perfect. I ADORE your dress. But this is coming from someone who also picked a very simple dress.

@peachacid: That’s a good tip! I will have to look into shapewear, if I could just FEEL better it would be good!!!
@greenviolets: Aw thank you 🙂

you look so beautiful and the dress fits you like a glove!! Dont regret your decision, you look amazing 🙂

Shapewear. Also, dress’s skirt needs a good pressing. If you’re wearing your hair up, I think a statement necklace would really complete the look. Stay away from belts, though. The cut of the dress is not right for one.

It looks great. I would get a spandex to make you feel better. And add blingy jewelry. FWIW-This is what I’ve been looking for, lol.

It seems like the neckline is a little higher than the one in the first picture…maybe that’s why you think it doesn’t feel the same? Unless that was intentional on your part.
Aside from that, you look great! The dress is simple but it fits well and looks very pretty. The skirt looks like it needs to be steamed and then it will look more polished, and like someone else above said — shapewear and a big statement necklace! Definitely don’t do a belt. I think having your hair up too showed off your shoulders and kept it from feeling overwhelming on the top.
You look wonderful, don’t let a few brief moments of indecision ruin the next few weeks!

I think you should just add jewelry, no belt. Very pretty dress and great price.
