I hired a venue that specializes in ‘turn-key’ weddings, basically you put the key in, turn it, and the whole thing starts. Basically my entire wedding is half-assed, and I’m honestly okay with that 😛

For our destination wedding, I didn’t get to test run anything beforehand.  No makeup/hair trial, no food tasting, etc.  Our caterer included dessert in the meal so the cake was purely for show…so just went to the grocery store and bought a red velvet cake for $15 and put some flowers on top.

I made $5 centerpieces from stuff I bought at Ikea.

I used the MyWeddingDJ app for $4.99 for your iphone instead of hiring a DJ.

I feel like I spent way too much time stressing if something was acceptable or unacceptable for a wedding and in the end, nobody gave a shit.  All they needed was some good food, alcohol, and fun music.

Our cake was ordered without a tasting either. We had the tasting afterwards. Good thing we picked the flavor we thought sounded good! It turned out to be the best flavor of the bunch

Errr… my catering. I booked without tasting first. BUT the reviews were good and they had worked with my reception venue several times before and most of all they were willing to work within my meager budget. Luckily having now tasted some food, while certainly not out of this world, it was pretty good.
