I am so with you on this! I had people come into work and hand them to me. I wanted to yell at them, “Thanks a lot for making me WASTE A STAMP!” Haha…I know it’s so stupid, but I wanted those little cards in the mail!

That is unfortunate…maybe try telling people you plan to save them as a memento of your wedding, and they might be more willing to mail it back.

I honestly told people if I did not get the RSVP card back, I would assume they were not coming to the wedding. No RSVP card, no escort card.

I got a few handed to me at work, and some of my moms family called her to tell them if they were coming or not.  I said I didn’t care and they hadn’t replied until I get that little freaking envelope in my hands!

This is why I now tell people NOT to include the pre-stamped reply cards.  Waste of money on the stamps.  Grr people.

I am paying for the damn postage so I will be pissed if they don’t send it back… it is NOT THAT DIFICULT! I don’t know how to make sure people that didn’t reply don’t get in though… We aren’t having a seating chart or anything.

Yeah, I tried to make people mail them back when they told me. I love checking the mail everyday.. and we spent LOTs of money in stamps.. some people even hand returned them.. and took the stamp.

I opted for phone or email rsvps, and set up a special email account for that purpose. All FH’s friends are rsvping by textings/facebooking him. It doesn’t count! I want those emails!

Weird that everyone is up in arms about this. I once called a close friend and asked if I could keep it because I though it was really pretty (and needed the reply card with the invite to complete the look).  She didn’t mind, just had me look on the back to tell her the tiny handwritten roman numerials she had put there so that folks didn’t see “127” and think they were at the end of the guest list and get cranky.

I completely agree! I’ve gotten back less than 50 rsvp’s out of 88 and only three of the rsvp’s I got back was a member of the wedding party! I’m still missing FI’s sister (BM) and 2 of the guys including the best man! Seriously out of control.

On the other hand, at least these people are reaching out to you (one way or another) with a response. By the RSVP deadline, we still have about 40% of our invites not responded and we had to call/email/text the rest to get it….And then at that point, I didn’t care what way they were responding – I just wanted to know!
