The first step to debt free 2012 started today. I have a credit card that I used A LOT in college, and by a lot I mean…. putting large expenses from my ex on it… that I finally paid off this morning! That thing has been a cloud over my head since 2007
It was like a weight was lifted off of my shoulder! I hated making that payment every month, and it was goal to pay it off before the wedding.
Welp— here we are, 3 months out and it is paid OFF! Wooooo Hooooooo!!!!! 🙂

@Mrs_Amanda: YAY! I remember my relief when I finally paid off my credit card from 2006. It was over the summer. I wanted to cry as well. I just paid off another card last night that we had to use because of FI’s accident and then booking our cruise. Thank you, tax return.

That’s fantastic! And inspiring. My ex-husband ran up so much credit card debt in my name, I don’t think I’ll ever get out from under it.

@HappierKate: I hope you do 🙁 I know it can be a big burden
Thanks everyone… it definitely makes me feel so accomplished. Although- I know it was my own fault, but I have spent every last little “Extra” at the end of the month for the past 2 years paying the balance down over the minimum payment, so it feels like all of the hard work has finally paid off!
