Congrats! I picked my ring out too and while its the best, waiting was the worst (about 10 weeks to get made). Once we had the ring we set a timeline of how long he had to propose so that I’d not go nuts waiting. (un)fortunately for me he is incapable of surprising me so I knew when it was coming and it was great!

beelove414:  I know exactly how you feel! Was there when he purchased the setting and we had to wait over a month for it to be made. now he has it in the safety deposit box at the bank so I’m just waiting for the proposal. Haven’t seen the finish product. It’s so hard not to talk about it, but I keep reminding myself that he probably isn’t going to wait 6 months to propose. I usually just try to focus on just being with him like normal and not talking about the ring. I don’t want to ruin the surprise. I say just try and live as if nothing has changed.

beelove414:

The judgemental attitude is so bizarre to me. I mean yes, it’s a symbol of his love for me, but part of his love is wanting me to be happy and being able to communicate about it…

We had a few comments but they all shut up pretty quick when they:

A) remembered that no one in my life ever buys me gifts (I’m just one of those hard to shop for people…) they give me money/gift cards, or take me shopping. So if they can’t even brave a birthday gift for me then they shouldn’t expect him to do the e-ring without me.

B) saw how much I love my ring and realized that no one could’ve picked it out for me (pear shaped morganite)

Seriously, with judgy people I go the ‘kill them with happy’ route. When people made comments about ‘you picked your own ring?’ I was like “I sure did! Isn’t it fantastic!!”

beelove414:  Exciting! I know exactly how you feel, SO wanted me to pick the ring. I can be quite particular about things, he knows this and I’ll be wearing the ring forever he wanted me to have something that I loved. We chose the ring together over 3 weeks now, I know it’s ready but don’t know if he has picked it up or when he’s proposing. It’s been such a loooooooong 3 weeks and I’m on tenterhooks!!

Fingers crossed that your SO pops the question soon!

As for the judgemental people, screw them, they’re most likely jealous as they know you’ll definitely have a ring you love! I personally really enjoyed the ring choosing experience with my SO, we had a really good time together.

Not too sure! I can’t imagine him holding onto it for too long as I know he’s very impatient lol! So I’m hoping before May! how about you? Xx

beelove414:  That’s no fun! I picked out my ring, which I’m very glad about because he has no idea what he’s doing and would have been at a loss as to what to pick.  So he’s actually quite relieved.  Now he’s making me wait until some date he’s picked (he hasn’t told me, he wants to surprise me), then he’ll propose.  So I’ve been losing my mind, too.  (We’ve had the ring a little over two weeks.)  So right there with ya, buddy.  ๐Ÿ˜›
