So, being a newbie to Wedding Bee, I thought I would ask around. What do you think of a girl proposing to a boy? A woman asking a man? A chick asking a dude?
I did it. I got down on my knee with a ring. I cried and told him how much I loved him and he cried and said yes. I have never been accused of being traditional, so this just fit the bill. There were many other times I asked him to marry me. One night on the bus after a Chicago Bears game. One morning after he made me breakfast. After a wonderful day of motorcycle rides, lunch by the creek, wind in my hair. His answer was always the same…..”You can’t ask me unless you get down on your knees with a ring”. So, after a long weekend in Vegas with his family and fun times I got down on my knee with a ring.
What do you think of someone who breaks tradition and grabs the bull by the horns?

I did it too and we couldn’t be happier with my decision. Congrats to you!!! I wish more women realized that they don’t HAVE to sit around anxiously waiting for their man to surprise them with a ring.

Congrats! I am in full support of women proposing! Our actions/roles shouldn’t just be defined by gender. My Fiance and I proposed to each other. Congrats again on your engagement! What does his ring look like?

The ring was for him. He wore it that night and then decided that tradition was the man didn’t wear the ring before the wedding. We got home from Vegas and went and had my ring designed. When it came in he surprised me with it, got down on his knee and did his own proposal. I was giddy, and secretly soooo happy he did it. So, in a way we proposed to each other and I couldn’t be happier.

I proposed too! I bought him a ring AND me a ring!

That is awesome!
I totally planned on proposing to my SO, since he seemed to live in blissful ignorance of my feelings about us & the future etc. But he totally blindsided me & beat me to the punch!
I’m with veganglam, more women should realize that proposal being a ‘man’s job’ is antiquated. If ANY woman wants to do it I say go for it!
