Sorry, no pics yet because I haven’t been back to drool more over my amazing dress and take pictures now that I’m allowed to, but I just have to find an outlet for my excitement (and thanks to you lovely ladies, I have one!). First off, Woohoo! We’ve been kind of sitting quietly and not making any progress on wedding planning for about a month now, so it felt AMAZING to kick it back into high gear.
What makes me the most happy about my dress is that I definitely went through two full appointments at two different stores doing the “lets try on every range of dress style to see what I like,” and it was difficult!!! I some how pulled off too many styles/looks…the lace, the drop waist, the poofy, the smooth/structured fit, the A-line, soft pink, ivory, antique… I felt like I would never have the “THIS IS THE ONE” moment because they would all look flattering and I am extremo indecisive!
So, in my fairy tale I would find a dress that had everything that I dreamed of having incorporated into one PERFECT dress but knew that was impossible. I mean come on… what kind of exploded mess would that end up being? BUT on the wildcard hail mary I finally asked to see something with a smooth, full, structured skirt and wouldn’t hate a little beading and/or lace detail in the bodice as long as it included NO silver, all very blended and cohesive… AND OMG IT WAS PERFECT!!! I’d love to show the model photo but it also doesn’t exist. Trust me it was tough telling my dad that there’s no possible way to show him this dress that I’m asking him to throw down a hefty deposit on… my salon provides a “love at first sight” discount if you decide that night that it’s the one and you put your money down. Discount? Yes please!
So anyway, the pics will be coming very soon (we forgot my sister’s shoes at the salon so I have to go back soon, shucks!) because I just can’t wait to share! This is the most similar dress I could find as far as overall shape and concept. I thought it would be mean to leave you with nothing!
So picture an antique colored bodice under ivory lace… toss in some subtle ivory beading over that lace and a light sprinkle of crystals. Swap out the sash for a soft, see through antique ribbon with three fabric roses(also antique colored)… and keep the skirt almost as is….ahhh the flow and drama… and the back has a V with buttons down the entire train… I’m in love!
