Congratulations?  No, I haven’t quit my job because, ya know, I’ve got bills and responsibilities and shit. Basically I have to BE mature, not just act like it.

There are thousands of people losing their jobs or living in fear of being fired right now…

I’m confused why you’re celebrating this? A bit tone deaf.

I did the opposite – I got offered extra shifts and took them. Who knows what lies ahead for my employment, or my husband’s?

Lots of people can’t afford to quit/lose their jobs…I was just furloughed for two months beginning last Friday and am definitely not happy about it.

I guess if I was in your situation, I would make sure to run any necessary errands for the parents and cook a lot, clean a lot…ask what they would like done.

Brideordie :  was it to care for family?

I make a bit more than my husband and rely a lot on it for bills, mortgage, our toddler and health. And if i were to quit, we would take a nasty hit. we rely heavily on our double income.

hopefully it was for the good for you

Maybe it’s a good time to apply for further education? College, university. Something that will help you career-wise, for the long term. Living with parents, having 0 responsibility is the ideal time to go back to school. Working in a grocery store won’t get you far anyway.

Nope – I didn’t quit my job, and I have no plans to do so. I’m very thankful to have a stable job during these time.

Going back and forth among multiple households (with at risk people living in them, no less) is really irresponsible right now. And you’ve been exposed to thousands of people at the grocery store so you are putting them at exponential risk.
