Brideordie :  My fiance got laid off, if I lose my job also we’ll basically lose everything which is what millions of others are experiencing, also.  So, nice that you have people to support you but most of us don’t.

Um no, adults generally can’t just quit their jobs without a care and have someone else support them. If you were looking for people to relate to you on this, I don’t think you’ll find it here. I, like most people here, have bills to pay, so nope, not quitting my job.

No, unfortunately I lost my jobs. And my certification exam, which is the culmination of my Master’s degree and an unpaid internship I moved across the country for, was canceled indefinitely because of the virus. Which means that I can’t begin my career as anticipated.

But I’m glad you’ve had something positive come from this! When the pandemic is over, you should look into working as a nanny or daycare worker. It’ll look a lot better on your resume since you’re studying ECE.

Enjoy learning to bake! I enjoy baking but I’m not the best at it.

Brideordie :  I’m terrified to lose my job.

I would maybe readdress this attitude in the current climate. Millions have lost their jobs already with more to come. Many won’t be able to afford their houses.

If you want to celebrate, sure do it. But don’t do it on a board where people are literally crying out for help. I think some introspection is needed here. SMH

Brideordie :  I’m a bit confused: (1) how much drama is there in a grocery store? (2) If employment at a grocery store stresses you out, how are you going to work with children?

I am so thankful that I have a job. It is a high stress job and I am in danger of being exposed (I am a nurse), but I’m just glad to have an income.

I am about to go on mat leave and my husband just lost his job. We have a mortgage and soon a new born. But um yay for you- hopefully someone who needs a job will pick it up.

Pretty insensitive post but then most of yours are

obviousanonymous :  thanks! I remember that post. I’m pretty sure the level of drama was more a function of OP than her previous workplace.

In light of the fact many many people have lost their jobs and now have to worry about feeding themselves and keeping a roof over their heads, I’m going to go ahead and close this thread. OP good for you but sadly most people live in the real world and don’t have the luxury of just jacking in their jobs.
