I’m dying to tell the world that I’ve found a new, wonderful job and I’ve just given notice for my terrible, soul-stealing job! Not only will I now have more money to save for the wedding, but I’ll also have more time to plan and spend with Fiance since my commute will now only take 20 minutes instead of an hour!!
I’m just so happy and excited! Did anyone else go through a job change during their engagement? Did it help or hurt your planning??
Ahhhh I’m so happy! Thanks for letting me come here and shout it out!

I didn’t, but this is awesome for you! Congratulations! Some extra money and leaving an awful position for a much better one is always a plus in my book! Good job!

Congratulations on making such a wonderful change ๐ remember this happy feeling about how much you love your new job, and think back to it on any day where the new job seems hard, tiring, or not all it’s cracked up to be!
Did you give 2 weeks? How long until you’re out of the soul stealing location?

OMG, congrats! I’m soooooo jealous! Lol. I was just talking to my Fiance about how the day I quit will be one of the best experiences ever… may even rival our wedding day! Hahaha, I kid, I kid. But my office is horrible and I am stressed out most days. I can’t wait to find something else. I have to wait until after the wedding though unfortunately ๐
Good for you, I hope its amazing!

Yay! I love good news ๐ and this is definitely good news!
@crebre, I’m surprised you’re not popping out the bubbly to celebrate ๐ or is it too early for that?

Ahh…the two weeks question. Here’s the thing…I don’t start until the 4th of Jan. Next week is christmas week and I had already planned on taking most of it off for the holidays to see our families in the midwest.
So…no, I didn’t really give two weeks of “working days.” I feel terrible about it, but if it was any other week than christmas week, I would have definitely given two weeks. The week in between jobs is going to be fantastic though–can you imagine how much I can accomplish in one week without any obligations??
So I do feel crummy about not giving the full two weeks, but I would have been on vacation anyway. And the office is dead at this time of year anyway, so they should be okay. Or am I just telling myself that to make me feel better?
Besides, they didn’t treat me with a ton of respect, so I’m not going to feel too guilty for too long!

Do NOT feel guilty. That’s just how the cookie crumble, you didn’t intend to screw them. Especially if they didn’t respect you, the guilt should quickly be replaced with PURE JOY. Seriously, I’m so happy for you. I can’t imagine!
