I usually shop one or two days before a wedding or baby shower.  Maybe that is what is happening?

Have fun at your shower this weekend.  A beer and bbq shower sounds like fun.

you would be suprised at how many people actually use the registry but forget to tell the check out person they are using the registry. They may be printing it out and buying things on the list but not actually updating the registry. This happened to me at a baby shower. I went and thought geez no one got her anythign so I got all this stuff off her list on the way to the shower. When I got there, other people had gotten the same things because they had very stupidly not updated the registry.

I agree that a lot of people forget to tell the check out person they’re using the registry so I wouldn’t stress! Plus, maybe you’re getting a lot of cash, which is always nice πŸ™‚

I always buy things off the registry on the day of the shower or the day before, I’m totally guilty of that. It’ll be fine, don’t worry! You’ll have a lovely shower!

I agree with the other posters – they could’ve forgotten to “use” the registry when checking out or be waiting until the last minute.  I also compulsively checked my registry when I saw the title of your post, LOL!

Honestly dont feel bad..I did this several days leading up to my shower and was disappointed. Then of course at my shower I got great stuff!! Some of the things were off my registry and some were not but all of them were aweomse! People didnt actually buy things until the day before or the morning of!

My shower is this weekend also and my grandmother just said to me today “Wow not many things are taken off of your BB&B registry, Everyone must have shopped at Target.”  I didn’t have the heart to say that I have been looking at it pretty often and not much is off of that list either. I know exactly how you feel. I made a big to-do with the Fiance to go register with me and now I’m worried that it was a waste of time.  With the guest list at 70 I was worried that there wasn’t enough stuff on there. Oh well. I’m just happy to have everyone in one place to celebrate.

My shower is Sunday so maybe people will be shopping this weekend. Tongue out

Most people shop the day before or the day of. Don’t feel bad, I will stalk my registry too.

Maybe the will just give you money, although that would be weird. Maybe whoever planned your bridal shower forgot to mention where you are registered at? Or they could just be waiting until the last minute.

@redherring: Maybe all of your guests are like me and shop 20 minutes before the beginning of the shower?? Im totally guilty of that more often than not. πŸ™‚

When it comes to showers I often shop the day of.  Mostly because I’m really busy and the day of the shower is the only chance I have to shop kiddo free.  I wouldn’t worry too much about the lack of purchases.

Have fun at your shower.
