@MrsDrRose612:  the mascara one made me snort. I guess it’s natural.

Oh man. I just sent that link to my very not girly female cousin. She said “That happened to me yesterday!”

Apparently she went to a bare minerals counter and wanted to find eyeshadow. She picked a color and asked “Um. How do I get this on my face?” She pointed out that this question should have hinted to the employees that she, perhaps, needed more assistance than most customers. Apparently they just told her “a brush” while looking “like I’d asked the wrong question”.

She couldn’t find any brushes that weren’t obviously for sale, so she asked if she could use a Q-tip, since those were out & available. They said yes. Then she asked if she could use a Q-tip at home and the employee yelled NO. He finally got her a brush to use.

She said she was trying to figure out what to do with the brush. “It didn’t appear the ‘dip, tap, swish’ method I had seen on my Bare Minierals dvd applied to this. Finally I just started swipping it on my eyelid and the guy said ‘You don’t have to hold your eyelid down!'” At this point, i started cracking up. Cousin said “Wait… what’s funny about that?!”

“Do you think you don’t have control of your eyelid? That it would somehow pop open at any minute?!”

Of course, she was pushing too hard with the brush and that was moving her eyelid, so she felt the need to hold it in place. The makeup guy at no point offered any assistance. So she is identifying with the dudes in the article and calling me a makeupist 😛

@MrsDrRose612:  As a freelance makeup artist and girlfriend to a man constantly bitching about how long it takes me to get ready, this made my day.

I’d love to see my boyfriend attempt this: he knew when he met me that I’m “all makeup”, yet still cannot understand why it takes so long to transform myself into a totally different human being.
