Hello ladies! My wedding is coming up in just two months and I *still* haven’t been able to find a veil! So I am putting myself in the capable hands of the Bee.
So… this is my dress: (Watters Sydney gown)

I’ll be wearing a custom made lariat backdrop necklace (not the one pictured) made of Swarovski pearl and Swarovski crystals.
I have a hair and makeup trial coming up in a few days, and I’m interested in wearing my hair in a similar fashion to this:

You get the idea. I don’t want the veil to cover my face at any point, and I don’t like having it draped over my shoulders- ideally I just want it fastened either above or below the bun and hanging down in the back for the ceremony.
Anybody have any suggestions? I’m not even sure what length to go with at this point (except not toooooo long… outdoor beach wedding!) and I’m having a really hard time finding a veil that seems to complete the look. Help!

I loooove when veils are below the bun (especially if you’re doing flowers in the hair – don’t want to cover them up!), and because of the skirt on your dress I don’t think you need a full-length veil — unless you want one.
I bought my veil on Ebay, LOVE IT! But what’s your budget? What length are you thinking?

@rachelmichelle: do you plan on having flowers in your hair (first pic) or are you just using the actual hair style for inspirtation? I love the flowers by the way, esp with your dress choice– it seems romantic and ethereal. If you are not using the flowers I think a veil similar to Hilary Duff wore would work. I plan on wearing a similar one, for my wedding–just not as long as hers. She has a two tier veil, and I believe it is walking lenght (maybe longer). I am hoping to have a knee length or finger tip. I am not having a super formal church wedding, and I’m clumsy. I do not want my veil getting caught! haha
Good luck!

@rachelmichelle: I’m watching these responses. I have the exact same issues.

@Jamcnair: I do plan on wearing a head comb as well- the veil is only for the ceremony and I’ll remove it before the reception because I don’t want to deal with it lol.
@mchitt329: I’m looking to spend no more than maybe $250-$300… I guess maybe elbow length would be alright?
@trixiesrockets: I didn’t include flowers for my hair in my floral budget, but now I kind of wish I had! I might be doing a hair comb, something similar to this:

@rachelmichelle: That is pretty. I think you could opt out of a veil, unless you are set on wearing one :).

Since the train of your dress reminds me so much of a veil, I just don’t thnk your dress NEEDS one. I understand that you do want one and so I might recommend a short, sweet, flyaway veil. Best of luck!

I would do a elbow (but it will hang lower because of where you pin it) length raw edge two tier veil below the bun.
This one is $30.

@rachelmichelle: Definitely! I really like elbow and fingertip length veils 🙂
