@whitandrior:  I don’t think there’s really a right/wrong answer to this question, it strikes me as more of a “get you thinking about how, and whether, you feel that God is a part of your relationship.” So, that answer should reflect your own personal relationship with God, if you have one.

A possible starting point: do you feel like God brought you and your future spouse together? Maybe talk about that, at least to begin with.

I’d admit to the priest that you haven’t thought about your relationship in this way.  I’d recommend the book “Three to Get Married”

God is love. Read the question as “How do you recognize love in your relationship?” Maybe that will make it easier to answer.

Wherever a man and a woman deeply love each other, God  is there, guiding them and making their love even greater.

God is part of our relationship…because God is love.

God is present in our relationship anytime I get angry and remember to be forgiving instead of snarky to my husband, because God loved me enough to forgive my sins.  God is present in our relationship in that we allow our partner to be Christ to us, and we promise to be Christ to our partner.  We put God first, each other second, and then ourself last.  We are prayerful together.

I know that isn’t an “interpretation”, but the best I could do was come up with examples.  I hope this helps!!

Since you are getting married in the church, your priest probably wants you to consider what receiving the Sacrament of Matrimony means. It means you are receiving one of the seven sacraments that is endowed with many of God’s blessings. Such an undertaking shouldn’t be taken lightly, which is probably why you got asked this question. Maybe the priest is trying to get you to recognize where God ranks in your life and do you see Him as a part of your relationship to your fiance.

I agree with KCKnd2, there’s probably not a wrong/right answer.
