bulma :  I know, right?? I had all these hopes he would do it on our trip to Sardinia that we’ve waited for half a year… I felt some signals, too! It came and… went. He confessed he expected litterally the same thing (and the shitty ring was ready for the trip), which just breaks my heart… It was supposed to be a tulip rose gold setting, which just makes me skip a heart beat thinking about! The jeweler also took more than 2 months to make it… he took his time and still did a crap job! Ugh! We would be engaged by now and I’d keep it a secret until I’d go visit my parents and all of my friends (going there 2nd August) and be like “hey y’all, so we’re engaged, guys!”. But nope! ๐Ÿ™

We actually went ring browsing last weekend to look for some fast alternative sapphire ring and I’ve found myself liking pretty much the most classic settings on earth, but I can’t let go of rose gold, and there was just no choice… He still demands on being independant and dealing with this on his own, I try to support him and get some info, but he just gets frustrated for that, so I don’t know how long I will wait now. ๐Ÿ™

Edit: Also, having a loose stone to be set doesn’t help finding a solution fast.

Its super frustrating but he really wants to make it right and make up for that crappy ring and ruined moment. So cute! I think once he gets it figured out and that moment gets here you will be so happy! ๐Ÿ™‚

zamorski :  I’ve recently experienced something similar to you, and we are stuck for a different reason. My Fiance ordered my ring from James Allen, and a moissy online and had the stone set at a local jeweler that he knows the family that owns it. The moissy is not set straight, and they have treated us the same as well (I know we didn’t buy the ring there, but we paid more than premium prices for setting the stone and sizing…$245 total!!) . They say I’m being too picky, and that it’s only off by like .5 mm.. But my band is only 1.7mm so it’s definitely noticeable! I’ve decided to just get over it for now and we may eventually replace my ring if it bugs me enough..

I would be even more upset had we purchased the whole thing from them, like you have. They need to make it right with you! I would definitely file a BBB complaint. That seems to motivate some businesses, especially if it’s a smaller business. One negative BBB complaint can really hurt them, and they would hopefully follow up with you to try to make things right (If they are smart and know what’s best for their business, that is). Good luck

Thats ridiculous! .5mm doesnt sound like much but we’re talking about a small piece of jewelery here of course its something noticeable!

I pray i don’t have to deal with the craziness you guys have to go through thats just insane

If there is a particular setting you want, just take a ton of photos of it from every angle possible.  Then send to David Klass ([email protected]), and have him do a drawing/CAD for you and give a quote.  He does wonderful work, is fast, and has great prices.

It’s that simple.
