On August 20, 2012 my boyfriend proposed on the shore of Lake Michigan. The best part was that both of our families got to share day the with us. His family is from Michigan, but my family is from Florida. I couldn’t believe that my fiance had them fly in – it meant so very much to me to have my parents and sister there to celebrate with us!
The setting for the ring was custom designed, but the stone is an heirloom. Given to us by his mom (it was the same stone his dad proposed to his mom with!).
Gorgeous side view – my favorite part 🙂

Congrats! Your ring is beautiful! I am looking at it and wondering, is it a trillion shape or a pear?

@MrsFuzzyFace: It’s a pear, but it’s not very rounded at the bottom so perhaps a hybrid? I feel like it occasionally looks more triangular than pear.
Thank you all! It was such a wonderful day 🙂
