This Friday and Saturday I went dress shopping for the first time, thinking that it was just to get an idea and not really make a decision. I’m extremely indecisive and thought that it might take me months to find the right dress. First we went to Vera Wang because my dream dress was there, and I did love it, but ultimately it seemed like too much to spend on a dress.
Today we went to Kleinfeld with an actual budget (we sort of lied at VW and said there was no budget) and I fell in love with an Anne Barge that was right at my price point! I’m pretty picky when it comes to fabrics, but her lace is beautiful and high quality. Going to Kleinfeld was a wonderful experience and they really did make me feel extremely special. My sales associate was Judith, and she did a great job pulling dresses that would look good on me, explaining what made each dress special, picking out accessories, etc. I went with a lot of people (8 plus my 5 year old niece), and they were really great at accomodating us. I’m also so happy that I brought everyone I did! They were all very supportive and were a big help when picking between belts and veils. Joan (the bridal manager) even came over to tell me how beautiful I looked and that the dress seemed like it was made for me! She told me that Anne Barge herself is very petite, so her dresses always look great on petite brides (I’m 4’11”), and that she knows Anne Barge would love to see a picture of me at my wedding. I have no idea if this was true or a sales tactic, but she seemed genuine. I’m not really an emotional person, but once I said yes, I totally teared up!
Anyway, here’s me in Anne Barge Delphine! I removed my face, so sorry if it looks creepy!
I’m going to wear a cathedral length veil with lace just on the bottom, a blusher, and the belt that’s pictured. I’m also having buttone with loops added over the zipper. I seriously cannot believe I chose a dress so quickly! Now I have to wait over a year for my first fitting!
